Is no-one around in warwickshire then??

Recommended Posts

Well my shiny new motor is still in a series of boxes as the weather has just been too foul to even think of putting the bits together. I'm hoping I can get out with the wing sometime soon to get started on my ground handling and then, when he gets back from France, I can meet up with Pete B and get the remainder of my training finished off.

This seems to be dragging on for an age!

If it's any consolation there were 5 years between my 1st and 2nd flight :!:

Hope it happens for you soon :)

Cheers,

Alan

Finally got my wing out last weekend - I was allowed to use a lovely field down at Bourton-on-the-Hill in the Cotswolds. First time I'd done anything since Airvault last March, but I was amazed just how it all came back to me and I was quite happily kiting the wing overhead, which shows just what a good instructor Alan Hunter is as all the drills were still there in my mind. Ok I managed to get a brake line wrapped around my head at one stage, but otherwise it was plain sailing until the wind picked up to ~18 mph when we had to call it a day.

Going to open up the boxes this weekend and put the paramotor together. I guess as it has been sat in the shed for two months I really ought to get around to it.

By the way, the Whitters technique to untangling lines also worked! Had a really bad tangle and almost panicked, but following the outermost line down really did work well. Yet another tip remembered from Airvault. Incidentally, one of the group at Bourton came up with a really simple way of keeping the lines untangled, but I shan't let on here in case it infringes a patent application....

Hi folks - Mark here.

Maybe got a few ideas..... Would a Warwickshire meet be worthwhile at a well-located pub maybe? We could bounce around ideas for a field ? :D

Hi ,

How about somewhere on the Northamptonshire / Warwickshire border?

Got to be worth a chat and a beer (any excuse)

There's about 5 of us now in Npton , could be some little cross counties on the cards.

so it will be just me and you then, it seems! lets call it a date

the best way to recognise each other may be if you wear your motor in the bar

Hi Bignos

Sorry I couldn't make it last night to Braunstone, but I was away on holiday from Monday to Friday, only just got back.

Just taking a look at your three sites above, they all point to the same location, whoops.

Dave
