Dont know how, but I have been granted a leave pass to go flying tomorow. :D

I hope to get up to the flag pole around 10ish. If anyone wants to join but cant get up the hill due to the possible mud bath, Give me a call and I will come down In the 4x4 and pick up from the road.

OK, not quite great but still very rewarding...

I only just managed to get up the hill myself due to the snow drifts across the track, about 2 feet in places.

Spent the morning and the early afternoon faffing about, trying and failing to forward lanch into the 1 mph but constantly changing wind direction..obviously a lot of fag and coffee breaks inbetween.

Then while fixing the flag onto the top of the pole again (i was bored ) and checking out the tip dammage to my prop (It fell over while warming up on tickover :( ) the wind picked up to 4.5 for just long enough kite the wing, put on my lid, strap in, get the wing over my head again, turn, give it some beans......and then....and then the motor got pulled off my back cos I forgot to do up the top strap! :(

And then the wind dies again! Couple more fags and the last of the coffee. By this time its 3pm, Time to Man up. Set out the wing for the last time whatever happens....Motor on, strap in (all of em), two steps back, and run...and run a bit more.. and a bit more. finally airbourne :D

Had a fantastic flight and a proper play. got some height and threw the wing around a bit, buzzed over to the white horse, took some pics..Threw it around a litle more..headed back low level, taking nice tight turns over the tree tops. circled the flagpole, got some height, killed the engine, few more tight turns and a perfect landing.

Was only up for 35 mins. my hands were frozen, eyes sore, nose contents drained, my back killing me (dont like running) but still a flight that more than made up for the wasted hours on the deck :D

So yeah... had a great day
