Need help with Solo 210 (ignition coil?)

Hi all. I am new to this forum, but I did my homework and searched the thread for the answers to my questions before making a new post.
I just got an old Solo 210 that is not starting. I have no idea what make this motor is, and haven't been able to find a user manual, maintenance manual, or wiring diagram. I think the ignition coil could be an issue, but the original coils were discontinued years ago, and it seems like nobody sells them anymore.
1. Can anyone help me to identify the make/year of this motor?
2. If you know a source where to find a manual or have a PDF, please share.
3. I would greatly appreciate any advice on what ignition coil can be used in replacement of the original. I spent hours trying to find something similar but had no luck...
Thanks in advance!

The second one may have enough meat on the laminations to correct any radius difference there might be to match your flywheel... Even if it means gluing some emery cloth to your flywheel and laboriously sanding by hand.

Some of these generic coils systems are listed as "four stroke"... I am 90% sure is makes no difference due to "Wasted Spark" you get on most four stroke ignition system... The main job is to attempt to purchase as close a fit of radius between the coil pickup laminations and the flywheel and having enough lamination showing to correct any minor difference.... Not easy to do as the listings I have seen don't give a radius.

Issue you might have....
Knowing what timing the Solo requires.
Differing hole patterns.
Having to move coil position / remounting to get the timing correct.
Not insurmountable but possibly quite a pain in the ass.

Pretty sure all these types of coil/pickup devices will have a similar intrinsic advance/retard (caused by the voltage climb as the rpm increases.... very simple // if my memory serves)

Considering the low price and you having nothing to lose, I personally would have a punt at if I was you.
Nowt wrong with a bit of science :)
Getting to grips with the principle's of such a basic ignition system would dispel the idea that only an identical part will work.

Too give you a head start on the timing.... I think the spark trigger will be the moment the rear lamination moves passed the magnet on the flywheel and the voltage begins to drop, this will give you a clue as to where to mount the new coil.

I haven't messed with two strokes since I was a nipper and I fly four a stroke so don't have a pop if I am missing something.

Thanks a lot. I'll try to play with different coils.
