From the Orange Crew Tent

Sitting in huddle here in the pitch black in our large orange tent at Roache with the buzz of generous banter is fun. The wind slaps the canvas and the creak of the aluminum structure above pur heads makes the place feel like a railway carriage under way. I think everyone is really pleased that they made a prompt departure from Land's End, to have hung around would have been tedious and dispiriting.

The wind is getting really wild and driving the rain hard, looking forward to tomorrow and wondering what 0500 will have to offer, a dawn takeoff or a quiet morning checking equipment and repacking the vehicles...

Tomorrow sees the team planning to transit to the close of the first days task then continuing as far as they are able towards Lambourn. The weather prognosis isn't brilliant - but then it isn't that bad either with at least a drop in the wind if nothing else after the next day or so.
