Hook II size 27 94kg pilot PPG

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Niviuk Hook II size 27   Min 90kg Max 115kg that I used for thermal (no motor). I bought a 200cc Nirvana rodeo and I want to know if this wing is safe for ppg, it doesn't have risers, and I dont know if this wing is more likely to colapse. I am 94kg, I launch form the beach.  Someone told me i just needed to fly this wing loaded (which with my 94kg +engine) I think i am doing that already.

Thanks

You should consult your instructor but I did my ppg training on a hook2 10 years ago and bought one at the end of my course and still fly it. I think it’s a 27 or 28, I am just over 80kg on the bathroom scales and it’s absolutely fine. Being a bit heavy on the wing tends to make it more stable.

As well as flying a hook 2 with paramotor I have also used it for paragliding and did an SIV course on it and found it very stable and well behaved, a good wing.
