I don't use Facebook.   Actually, after hearing of the way FB sells your personal info, I don't want to now.

BUT....

I can't find any other way to find out when people in my area will be meeting to fly and where.  (South Florida)  I went to belle Glade last weekend hoping to meet a few guys there but no one ever showed up.

Does anyone know of a place other than FB where people talk about weekend flight get togethers in South Florida?

Thanks

Usually in whatsapp groups. 👍
Find some people and get added.

Hate to burst your bubble Paul but whatsapp is owned by FB. I have the same problem, I avoid FB like the plague but find that everyone insists on using FB/whatsapp which to me is unaceptable, guess I will remain the Billy No-mates until everyone  sees sense and switches  to Telegram or Signal :)

@grumble56 couldn't agree more. I sometimes struggle with not using WhatsApp and/or FB Messenger, as they've successfully hoodwinked the masses into using it. Signal is the only one I'll use.

If you don't put any information on FB, then they have nothing to use.

You can always use the 'telephone' and phone all your mates and try and arrange something? - Good luck :-)

Ah but if you set up friends they have the necessary info to link you to them, pull all the relevant meta data to link you all together and get very nice profiles. [skulks off with tin foil hat on]

If only you knew.....if only.....

As "everyone" has submitted to FB, there is no choice if you want to know where everyone will be flying.

Unfortunately, everyone is deserting the once popular private forums in favor of FB and the giants.

SO SAD

Ah but, the meta data about the minimal FB user would be useless. Fake name, fake DOB and friends who are not related or normally connected in any way!

Sadly FB is more insidious than that. Even with a fake name they will track your activity across the net even after you have closed down the FB page and will build a profile. Hell, they got into trouble for tracking non FB users !

This is statistically not the cast as it happens :-) Over the last 24 months facebooks 'groups' activity has reduced massively in favour of traditional forums and alternative providers. (ever since the massive data breach by FB)
