AndyB
I have never flown too late in the evening, but after last nights gusty, bumpy ride decided to so for a late one. Sunset 20:48 so land 21:18. Well, I was having fun and up at 3000 feet could see Newcastle in the evening horizontal light. It took a while to get back down and I didn't land until 21:09. My take off field is not so wide and has power cables across it at 45 degrees from the left. Taking off requires a right turn to avoid them. I was landing over the farm buildings and could just about see my car but little else. I think because I was landing due west, into the sunset, it made it difficult to see. It looks a lot clearer in the photos.....the power lines only become visible in the last photo. I just knew landing by the car would be fine!
