  2. Hi Simon, could you pass on the message about my membership being missing. Also I cannot PM anyone directly or access old messages? My one last question is can i revert back to user name AdrianE rather than adriane - i use the same format for all my logins.
  3. I have a new wing but need a ground handling harness, any ideas where best to get one. Size Large - not worried about condition, cheaper the better. Thanks, AdrianE
  4. Go careful - I may be wrong but.... If you have 2 x 1 tonne links then if at the ultimate worst you put a 2 tonne force on in a turn then one is going to fail as you will only have 1 tonne rating each side rather than 2 tonnes either side. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. I think they are called shackles.
  5. Was that taken at the flagpole?
  6. Looking forward to seeing some pics, the tracker has certainly shown you've travelled well! Am very jealous!!
  7. Hope your having better weather than here!! Wet wet wet...and windy!! The tracker looks impressive, altough who ever is golfing it seemed to walk around in lots of circles at camp yesterday!
  8. Anyone know of some good wings for a beginner (modern and safe essential)? I'm 90kgs + boots, helmet, kit, motor, reserve etc (Am buying the wing to continue ground handling until I can afford a motor ). Ideally I'd like either a Paramania Revolution 28 or the Apco Thrust (Large) however i'm looking at 2nd hand with a top enf of £1k and unsure if these would be available at these prices? I've seen a Paramania Action 29 L for £650 but wondering if these are becoming a little old now? Any suggestions on wings or prices I should be looking to pay? Thanks AdrianE
  9. A neighbour was asking me what made me want to paramotor - thought I would add on here as well. For me it all started with the balloon fiesta about 10 years ago. They had a paramotor display and that made me go "I want to do that!". Fast forward 10 years, nothing has progressed until.... I saw the video below. This was the final factor to give Simon a call and put the money in for the training. For me this would be my ideal flight, I really cant wait to get off the ground some time soon (weather is frustrating) . This is my favourite video on youtube, especially as its local! 10. I cant see any joins to the camera? I would have expected to see something to suggest how it was attached to the aircraft? Maybe its been photoshopped out of the picture? Its very good though
  11. I wish Weather Pro just seems to show strong winds. I'm off Friday to Monday is it looking flyable (for first flights)....
  12. It's also a good way to get 2nd hand kit. I'm emailed on every new item added! Just got an email because you posted this.
  13. He looks like a transformer!! I'd love to see them go past speed cameras, or the look of those bikers thinking WTF! as it overtakes...

    GoPro HD

Ok, been doing a little digging. GoPro dont mention any problems relating to not using the SDHC cards other than things will take longer to start and to boot up etc. Someone else has raved about the following fixing their GoPro HD problems on the PC: http://www.videolan.org I use this at work - I think its open source and an alternative to windows media player. Full link http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=575081 There may also be a firmware upgrade from the GoPro website you might want to install - may not help this issue but its never a bad thing to have the latest version installed. From Go Pro HD instructions: SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The HD HERO camera is compatible with Microsoft® Me/2000/XP/VISTA or later, or Mac OS X 10.2 or later. The HD HERO camera can also be plugged into any standard definition or HDTV that has RCA or component (RGB) ports, allowing for high quality playback. Windows System Requirements for Full HD 1080p and 720p 60 fps Playback: • Microsoft Windows® XP (Service Pack 2 or later) or Vista • 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 or faster • Direct X 9.0c or later • At least 1 GB of system RAM • Video card with at least 256MB of RAM Macintosh System Requirements for Full HD 1080p and 720p 60 fps Playback: • Mac OS® X v10.4.11 or later • 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo or faster • At least 1 GB of system RAM • Video card with at least 128MB of RAM If you are having problems achieving smooth playback on your computer, the HD HERO camera can also plug directly into any standard definition or HDTV that has RCA or component (RGB) ports. The HD HERO camera itself provides very smooth playback directly on a TV and when using component (RGB) cables for HD playback, the quality matches that of playing back on a computer.

    GoPro HD

I have a samsung HD camera, that's the same. Plays fine on camera but jumpy on laptop. You may be able to upgrade your graphics card. I just burn them to DVD and they are fine. It's usually the graphics rather than the pc. You should be able to burn or upload if needed. Make sure your using the correct sd cards(if they use them). You can now get faster cards. The cameras write more info to them, they are Hc cards - but still same format. E.g. If the cards size is sd then the faster same size card is a Sd HC card. Hope this makes sense.
  16. Absolute awesome video, what time did you start? What camera are you using, quality is very good
  17. Yep, its been that long, at least I hadn't forgotten anything. Not sure on timings this week, tomorrow is my wife's mum's birthday so have been told to keep that free. The rest of the week I have at least 3 days meetings booked. I'm still owed a days cancelled holiday so if its looking anygood on Friday I may have an option. At the minute Weather Pro still is showing windy/gusty conditions for the rest of the week. However, during the next 3 weekends I already have booked a 3day weekend, followed by another 3 day weekend, followed by a 4 day weekend. I'm hoping for at least a couple of good days out of them? Still saving (slowly) for kit - its going to be bottom end of the 2nd hand market prices.
  18. Day 4 After what seems an eternity the weather has improved and the rain has stopped. A quick call to Simon to confirm and a day back under the wing it is. No need to recap, the handling comes back naturally and I'm loving every minute, still at the stage of "ready to fly" but the wind is gusting to 13mph and its very clear that it isnt going to happen at the minute. A quick break and some theory whilst its gusting. Ground handling is now perfect and I'm ready for the next good day. Hopefully the break in the weather will remain and looking forward to the next training day
  19. Sounds good to me, Im sure I could ground handle in my sleep but thats completley fair enough. We can go through the book as well Flagpole or other site? What time is best for you?
  20. Hi Simon, doable as in first flight? Can we go through the book if not?
  21. Hi Simon, looks like fun! Have you flown yet - cant see any photos posted? Still looking forward to some nice weather for a firs flight...... I can hope....
  22. Very mental, I'm even struggling to think of why you'd want to do that?
  23. Sounds good, just a shame about all the bad weather Keep on checking "weather Pro" on the iphone but jut too much gusting. Hopefully will get my first flight sometime soon....fingers crossed.
