  1. miniplane top 80 all day long. this wing is large enough for it
  2. Touch n' go practice today. I starting to feel the pitch of the wing better now. this was my 60th take off
  3. one of the previous owner had cracked the head probably from putting bad or low octane gas i was told. So it was spewing out gas but didn't leave any deposits the color of the plug was perfect (like the electrode now but all of the spark plug but i didn't run the engine during summer yet) It has lots of compression now and at -1c it started after around 5 pulls. I wouldn't be surprised if the new oil causes less deposit since the burning temperature of motul 710 is 30°c lower. For now it will probably be even richer we got real winter temps coming our way (-10c this week and after Christmas it's supposed to go down to -20/-25 )
  4. Hi! thanks for your input i appreciate it. I am using Redline two stroke racing oil. I only have 500ml left. I will use motul 710 after that.
  5. I will also note it was -1 celcius and that mi fuel mixture is 2.5%
  6. i didn't really idle the engine much before landing maybe 20 seconds max . It seened to run fine but i want to make sure it's okay to run it like that or if it could cause damage. Since it doesn't have top end adjustement i am unsure how to go about it
  7. Hi, I am wondering if someone is used to dealing with carbs here. I have replaced my ros 125 head so now it runs richer but looks too rich to me. any second thoughts would be appreciated. It has a wg8 carb the spark plug pic is after a 1h30 flight
  8. Ok so when i bought this engine i knew i would have to replace the head, it was leaking oil. Thankfully its only 120$ to swap . Probably caused by some bad gas. Eric from airpro paramotor told me he saw this a few times from certain areas that didn't have access to good high octane gas. Probably caused by pre ignition/ improper timing. As i explain in my video, the previous head was warped too probably from uneven heat from the leak or just the preignition warping it ( doubtfull of that). Well , i still have to paint the exhaust and check the piston bearing/piston ring and maybe change the main bearings/seals. I put 12 hours on this engine so far and its running great i'm glad its reliable as i know the ros 125 is a it or miss.
  9. for my own curiosity how much does a AC Tornado 280 vs nitro 200 cost ?
  10. Umm that could be it, i will need to recheck everytime those tip brakes are underneath everything, they sometimes are hard free up and that would make sense. Thanks for your insight, i will continue to improve myself
  11. Hard launch on my paramotor today it seems i wasn't perfectly straight with the breeze and it seems to have shifted even more to the left. Hard days are nil wind days. Never give up practice. This was my 55th takeoff so far and 33rd this year
  12. Lengthened brakes lines and lowered the brakes, couldn't help but notice that ITV has put some markers for each brake position so it was very easy to put them at their factory length. only needed to measure the tip brakes and I'm good to go for tomorrow
  13. that is good advice, i was taught to hook in the a's with my thumb and use the mini plane throttle with my index finger while holding my brakes with my other 3 fingers. So far with gloves i seem to prefer holding the brakes with my two last fingers and using the middle one for the throttle. I like to be able to stow my brakes. So far i didn't get cold anywhere else with 4 layers of clothes and surplus combat boots. It will be interesting this winter as it often goes down to -20 C. Most people choose not to fly during winter or only fly when it's like 0 C .
  14. Yeah, it was my first time using heated gloves and it worked quite well exept at launch (not good enough yet). Might review those soon
  15. Getting high with my ros 125. A first time over clouds for me was truly something memorable. the glide down was so peacefull too. AMAZING "
  16. After confirmation i will need to stom my brakes upside down after i lower them, no big deal
  17. I know this post is dated but if anybody is looking for it, I have a freedconn t-com bluetooth setup and it's been very good. I know other pilots which switched to a legit sena and were disappointed by the slim difference in quality. So yeah it compares really well to a sena at a fraction o the price i recommend it. My only complaint is the length of the wires, they could have been 2-3 inches longer my guess is that the t-max is as good as the tcom
  18. with a take off weight of 120kg i fly a ITV billy size 22.5m (small). Inflates easily , agile but safe, it is my first wing (from my 12th takeoff i only flown this wing so i cant really compare it to other wings except to the Nervures estive 26m which i made my first 12 takeoffs with)
  19. thanks for the clarification, right now the brakes are on the top pulley so nothing was adjusted other than when it was initially received by my instructor ( they were a bit too tight) . So if i understand correctly if i want to put them on the lower pulley i need to lengthen them by 150mm. But again where will i stow my brakes? it would be more comfortable to lower them on my high hang point machine but not absolutely necessary
  20. I remember when i received the wing it was in a paragliding configuration so i had to release the trimmers and shorten the brakes maybe i was supposed to lower the brakes
  21. I see how i could lower the brake handle but then the magnets would become useless i couldn't stow the brakes? maybe i could stow them upside down? one thing for sure is that this pulley is there for this specific reason. Maybe i should ask ITV about that
  22. i would have too liked a separate tip steering handle. my next wing will probably be a dudek but that won't be in the near future. I will look if i can do what your suggesting
