  1. Hey Dave... Thanks to your avatar I have watched way too many clips of Trailer Park Boys as well I might have to order the whole series. Great stuff! Mike
  2. Hi Phil! Yes I even burned the edges of the hole I drilled to keep them from fraying and super glued them down to keep them from twisting while tightening. I appreciate you double checking on a newbie(me) though! I do have some questions for you about the hang test and how to avoid the "Adventure Run" I have heard about. I figured those questions would come in time...but why not now? I have read the "Powered Powergliding Bible" twice so far....I have watched "Risk & Reward" twice along with "Why We Fly" and every video on Youtube & Vimeo. I have probably read every topic in this forum that contains "F3", "Solo 210", "Powerplay Sting". All the training blogs...which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way. Keep in mind though....I am a complete newbie to PPG....So continue to teach Grandma to suck eggs (whatever the heck that means-lol). Also keep in mind I already F*#ked up step 1 by buying my set-up before doing any research I am down to 200lbs by eating nasty tasting granola bars for breakfast & lunch....I can't afford the tuned exhaust
  3. Now that my tinkering is just about finished I should be able to figure out how to post photos and videos! Thanks Outkast!
  4. The motor mounts made it here two days ago and I installed them yesterday. The top two I removed had some cracking in the surface. The bottom one(which needed to have the gas tank removed to get to) actually split in two when I gave it a good twist. I am very glad I changed these. Rubber will deteriorate over time whether or not the engine is being used..just like tires on our vehicles. Hopefully everyone gives their's the once over. I also installed a new primer bulb(keeping the old one as a back-up) and all new fuel lines from the primer since I had the tank out already. Cleaned the funk out of the tank (old piece of rubber fuel line turning to a gooey mess). Changed the pulse line to the engine and the whole fuel line with filter to the bottom of the tank (including a home-made weight). My wife spray painted the standard exhaust with high temp/high gloss black(looks awesome). Ordered a spare propeller. I just need to do a little mod to the WB32 and put the K&N on it and she will be ready to fly!!!! Of course I am not ready to fly...still kiting/ground training whenever the weather is agreeable!
  5. Thanks again, both for your response to this topic as well as your posts to other topics while helping others. I will give it a go with the cut-away of the WB32. I also have a line-up on a WB37 if needed. Here is the write-up I was reading. http://www.geocities.com/farellus/idle_adaptation.html
  6. I have read write-ups for 2 ways of cleaning up the mid-range of this carb/engine combination. 1) Cut or file the throttle valve (Scott Traver's mod). or 2) Plug a mid-range port(hole) Just wondering which of the 2 options is the better route to go... and why one way may be better than the other. Thanks again!
  7. Received my K&N filter yesterday from my purchase off ebay. It fit the adapter from Mojo's perfectly. Model # RU-0800 http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-0800
  8. My Walbro adapter came from Mojo's Gear. It is 2.5 inches (6.4cm) at the inlet. I will just grab a K & N and keep it simple. It has a pretty smooth sound as it is. I am sure it has been posted before but here is the Solo 210 breakdown with Adventure part numbers. Seeing as there are a few us here with the F3s. Mojo's appears to use the same numbers for their Adventure parts. http://www.paramoteur.com/doc/plans_solo.pdf Mojo's Gear http://www.mojosgear.com/mojos/power-adventure-parts-c-2_11_45.html?osCsid=c0254c3b00254a9085da5dac38ffd407 Good luck to all of us!
  9. I took off the stock foam filter and mounting plate which had holes through it to get to the mounting screws (seems like a bad design). I have a new adapter mounted..ready to accept a K&N or an intake silencer. I would like to keep it as quiet as possible however, I do not want to lose any power....additional power would be great. Any recommendations? It is a WB-32 on an Adventure F3 with standard exhaust & head. Thank you!
  10. Thanks. I did call Adventure and with their help was able to get the part number for the mounts. I then ordered the mounts and a few other goodies (to make a minimum order) thru their e-site. Hopefully it won't take too long for the mounts to get across the big pond.
  11. Would having too high of a shear rating actually take away from the anti-vibration effect I am looking for? Do you or does anyone know what the O.E.M. rating of the mounts for the F3 are? I would like to keep it as close to stock as possibly unless there is a proven upgrade. Would one of our French speaking friends call Adventure and see if they can get this information !
  12. Just a quick update. I decided on a slightly used Powerplay Sting 140. I am still ground training on the Prima 27 until it arrives next week.
  13. I have an Adventure F3 with cracking/sagging motor mounts. Adventure parts in the US are getting hard to find. I have a part # V12Z09MMM121510 EDIT/UPDATE: THESE ARE NOT CORRECT. THE CORRECT PART# FROM ADVENTURE IS MR25 I NEEDED 3. NEWER ADVENTURE MODELS USE 4 OF THEM. Would somebody please verify if these are correct, or send me in the right direction. Thank you! Mike
  14. Now that is funny stuff! Maybe the Ringling Brothers need a spare Big Top! Just a little "light" humor. Seriously though...thanks for the reassurance that this F3 will get me above the tree line. I am leaning towards a basic used Paratoys wing.....maybe I watched to many "Salton Sea PPG" videos.
  15. Thank you gentlemen! I guess I confused myself with the all-up weight limit of the Apco Prima 27 which is 70-90 kg. This wing came with the F3 and I had planned on using it for ground training only. I am very relieved to hear I am not as under powered as I had originally believed. I am still open to your suggestions for a good beginner wing that I will still be able to use for short cross country flights. I don't want to be limited to flying circles around corn fields. Thanks again!
