  1. I agree, the re-wording of the post would probably have made it more suitable and indeed protect Simon's and the forum's interests. This action should be agreed offline from the forum and with agreement between the parties involved. The other solution might be to contact WalkerJet and ask them to respond and thus giving both angles of the story. If indeed all avenues of complaint had been tried and no response given then I see no problem with informing others of this fact - but in a fair and constructive way rather than a rant. Of course, the issue now is that the post is gaining more focus and generating more discussion since it was removed than it would probably have done if it had stayed. It is a balancing act and one that is difficult. The key is to state clearly the rules of the forum and then everyone knows what the approach to a particular situation will be. One thought: Surely it would only become a legal issue if WalkerJet requested that the post be removed and it wasn't or ??

    Suunto X10

The cheapest I have found is on ebay but then it is shipped from the states and not sure what the duty would be.... does anyone know how to find this out?? The cheapest in the UK is Amazon at about £319 inc P&P
  3. Sorry to hear you're unwell and unable to fly.... agreed it is so frustrating but hopefully the weather will hold until you're better. I'm on the verge of doing my first flight after doing some training in Spain so find it very frustrating having the weather and a brand new paramotor but not being able to get in the air.... Fingers crossed we'll both be up there soon!!
  4. Sorry to hear your story Felix. Hopefully this has not clouded your view of the sport and that you continue your training one way or another. I do however agree with other comments here that good professional tuition is a must. Have a chat to Simon and I'm sure he'll sort you out or know someone who can help you. Good luck!!

    Suunto X10

Has anyone got one of these? Are then any good/worth the money? What other similar products are there on the market that people are using? It does seem an expensive piece of kit but then it has loads of features. I'm wondering if I need such an all-inclusive product or whether there are alternative cheaper products available. Also, does anyone know what the difference is between the X10 and X10M? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated. Have just purchased a pair of Salomon Cosmic's for £139... bargin. I did look around at the Hanwag and Crispi boots but they were quite abit more expensive and with the Salomon's I can use them for other purposes. If I don't like them when they arrive I can always send them back. Have also contacted TinyTach with regards which model number the double spark version is... Thanks again guys!!
  7. Hi, Can anyone recommend a good pair of boots as I'm going to need a new pair soon. Been looking around and there seem to be loads of walking type boots to choose from. Any particular brands better than others?? Also looking for some heated gloves, I have been recommended Klan but not sure which ones to buy. Do I just need the inners?? Can you still ground handle with these on?? What other brands do people have?? Also, does anyone know which TinyTach is suitable for a ParaJet Macro?? Thanks in advance
  8. Indeed, was alittle disappointing that we went all that way but didn't get airbourne but those winds were crazy!! There was a good group of people and I think we all learned alot and are now pretty much ready for our first flights. Weather has played a massive part in my training and it has been a case of grabbing bits here and there, whenever possible with both Simon and Alex. Was hoping a week intensive course would be the key to getting off the ground but in this sport you can't help the weather, luck of the draw. If we had been a week earlier we would have all been in the air with massive smiles on our faces. It will come, roll on good weather in the UK.
  9. The factory is in Mere, Wiltshire. If you're ever down south then it is well worth a visit.
  10. Thanks Phil, not that good at the DIY so probably not a good route for me.... Has anyone got one of these?? http://www.paramotor-store.com/paramoto ... index.html looks good as an all-in-one solution and not a bad price....
  11. Hi all, I'm interested in getting the Icaro Fly UL helmet for paramotoring and would like to have it fitted with a headset to use with a two-way radio and if possible my iPod. http://www.icaro2000.com/Products/Helme ... Fly-ul.htm Can anyone suggest what type of headset I would need? They have a list on their website but it all means nothing to me so any advice would be greatly appreciated. http://www.icaro2000.com/Products/Helme ... nics.htm#2 Also, which radios would people recommend to work with the above?? Thanks
  12. Paul, why not take a trip across to Lambourne when the guys are flying? You will be able to chat to a number of different pilots, see the kit and also discuss your training requirements with Simon. Everyone is really friendly and you might even get to play with a wing.... Failing that, find a group local to you. There must be someone on here that is near you and can help you out. Good luck!

    C4 Dare Devils.

Looks like they have added an extra episode, as it was my understanding that the series was made up of four programmes.
  14. Now just got to figure out what it all means..... lol
  15. I got mine from Pooleys.com as the postage was cheaper. The maps themselves seem to be the same price everywhere, I found no variation on my search....
  16. Well done mate!! I can totally relate to your story and feelings of frustration. The good news is that you are now up and flying. Enjoy!!
  17. Great and impressive work Dave!! Well done!!
  18. There are many motors out there and all have their positive and negatives. The best advice is to do your research and where possible try them out before buying. Many pilots have their favourites so you will get alot of differing opinion, but these will help you make an informed choice based on what your requirements are... Good luck and happy flying!!
  19. Possibly, it was advised that they took a back-up as the ViewRanger platform is on a mobile phone and it was not known what the coverage would be like in certain areas. Would not have been good if they lost tracking over the mountains... They definately used this software as it supplied the live tracking on the website... The feedback was very positive from the team on all accounts....
  20. Awesome!! Great news that we can have this on the forum, a one-stop-shop solution.
  21. You might also want to look at the ViewRanger software http://www.viewranger.com This is the navigational software they used on the Solar Electric Flight. I also understand that they are currently working on an iPhone version as well as expanding out to other platforms. One to watch methinks....
  22. Awesome!! Well done mate. I'm out in Spain in a couple of weeks. Hoping to get my first flight in....
  23. You'll have to bring her along sometime so that she can educate the other WAGS.... lol. You are very lucky methinks.
  24. Great vids!! When I see these it makes me wish I had more time at the moment to get out there and get myself in the air. Problem is the distance to Lambourn and good weather always clashing with other commitments, does anyone else have this problem?? I just seem to be on a constant battle to get the time to get my training in, will I ever get off the ground?? Have booked in to do a week out in Spain while out on business so hopefully this will be my break and I can progress beyond running around with the wing..... so frustrated at the moment, have my motor sat in the garage and I can't even use it yet...
