  1. 996? How strange - another biker taking up paramotoring!
  2. Come on! Come on! I have a motor in the garage now!
  3. Any updates? I'm not far off taking to the air now.
  4. It's better to stay silent and look a fool, rather than speak and remove all doubt - as they say.
  5. You're upsetting me with your post - I believe that was the intention form the outset.
  6. He must have been a proper welder in that case.
  7. Sorry to hear this, Pete. Who are you insured with? Keep us updated on your claim.
  8. I'll just point out that my quote was for a student with zero hours in the air. The premium comes down with experience.
  9. Third party - £1,000,000 cover - £105 Equipment Cover (Ground Risk Only) - £6000 cover - £78.75 So I take it my equipment will be covered if I plummet into the ground.
  10. Thanks for that - Google's just come up with them too. What sort of premium are we looking at? Is third party the only available cover?
  11. Where can I get third party cover? I'm sure I've read about this somewhere on the forum but I can't remember where. Thanks.
  12. No idea. Just don't post a thread asking which wing you should buy.
  13. Cheers Dan, I'm going to do some ground handling before I go for a motor. There's always the chance I'll be utterly hopeless - and there's no rush. So I can probably predict I'll be buying a motor after my 1st session - regardless of how I get on.
  14. I'll let you know after I've started flying it. That way - if I've made the wrong choice - I can chop it in for something else without everybody thinking I'm an idiot!
  15. So, after all that, I'm going for something else all together - as recommended by my instructor. It should be here in a couple of days. I'll not tell you what it is yet, as I've now learned that ask 10 paramotorists the same question and you'll get, at least, 11 different answers. Thanks for all the suggestions though - we can do the same again when the time comes to buy a motor!
  16. I have a motorbike - clocked at [edited] That's why I'm looking upwards.
  17. Paul, thanks for that - but it's of no help at all. I'm looking at day 1! Assume I know nothing - and you'll be overestimating my knowledge. Trimmers?
  18. Thanks leoibb, but could you paragraph your replies. It's hard work trawling through yourprobablyinformativeresponses. /Dave Cheers anyways Could someone explain the difference between a novice and an intermediate wing?
  19. Why? In detail. I'm tending towards your side of the argument to be honest.
  20. I had seen that, Dan - I've been surfing the net, like a geek, this weekend. That looks like a good review to me? Do you think that wing would suit a novice? [/b]
  21. Thanks for the input, Norman, opinion is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm normally an impulsive sort of bloke but with paramortoring, I'm finding it very easy to sit back and take advice.
  22. That's what I'm doing, Norman. macey2kk's option looks like a better option if it's suitable.
