  1. I've been running straight wooden props and scimitar props from Arplast with winglets for 12 years on my Konig. I can honestly say there's no difference in thrust, but the wingleted versions are quieter by a fair margin. Richard
  2. thanks for suggestions everyone, the Karting supplier option appears the best at £13 for a 5L tank with the fittings. I'll start the planning/design now and await legislation changes before implementing. Richard
  3. Anyone know if there are already additional 5/10 litre tanks that can be retro fitted to paramotors? or if there's a supplier out there willing to fabricate? I currently run on a 9 litre ali tank which is good for 1hr 55min of flying, but an extra hour or two would enable occasional extra length flying when I fancy it. Free space on the chassis is an issue though, as it would be on most designs. Doesn't have to be ali, it can be plastic. Perhaps fitted to the shoulder of the main chassis where the cage connects. One five litre tank each side, but slim fitting, perhaps 50 cm long, 10 cm wide? I have two fuel access points on the existing tank, plus breather/filler and engine feed. Comments/ideas welcome, even if you think I'm insane. cheers, Richard
  4. Bob took the starter off and found it to be quite stiff. He stuck some WD40 on the starter motor mechanism and everything freed up great. Motor starts first time every time now. Just a bit of maintenance required! thanks Richard
  5. Many thanks for the info here. I'll ask him to try that, but he is using the M21Y electric version, so might be a bit different from the M25Y hand start type. I'm not sure myself. Cheers, Richard
  6. Anyone any ideas? My mate's Vortex starts on a new battery 'first flick'. It then wont turn over at all on the second attempt, just a quick in and out of the starter and then nothing. Almost like there's a short on the battery when it's running and draining the battery so it wont start at the next attempt. Any clues? Cheers, Richard
  7. Jock's motor was 'a poppin' and 'a bangin' like mad at the end. He was also able to hold it one handed - no power at all. Funny though, it did sound great when he first started it up. Wierd. He told me the The fluff found in the carb was about 10% of the size of fluff found in Jock's belly hole..... I think a decent carb service will solve it though (The motor, not Jock). LOL Richard
  8. PG wing will always do better on mpg compared to a dedicated (PPG) reflex power wing. But ....... there's more speed on a reflex, more stability, but ...... a bit harder to launch a reflex and more stuff on the risers to mess with (Trimmers/Toggles etc). "Horses for Courses" Also look for newer wings. My old kn*ckered Saber did 1hr 20min max, My Aspen2 does 1hr 55min ............................ both DHV2 PG wings but 10 years development between them ............ cheers, Richard
  9. Gradient Golden2 has some reflex and is DHV1/2 for freeflying. Richard
