Simonini are displaying a new motor on their website. The Mini 2 Evo. 230cc, 1 Kg heavier than the Mini 2 Plus and claiming over 90Kg of static thrust. I have heard that there are a couple of companies going to be using it !

I started with a Bolero Plus XL which I initially used for free flight. I purchased it so that I could also use it for PPG. It covered a good wide weight range. The big problem that I ran into with the Bolero was that when under full power it would hang back and then swing from side to side so much so that people on the ground had to change their pants. they thought I was going to fall out of the sky. I was using a PaP with M21 Corsair engine, plenty of power to get my large lump off. I must admitt I did not have the Power Risers fitted at the time. So, if you are using a powerful motor take care ! I now fly a Revolution 30................................

I had the same problem with a PAP with Corsair M21Y. The problem was with the switch wires which are routed on the frame behind the harness. These wires have bullet type connections to allow the throttle assy., to be removed. One of he connections had pulled apart due to not enough slack. Slight modification of the routing and several cable ties resolved the issue.

With luck, I shall be there. Lets hope the weather will be better than last year................... Dave.

I have heard the same , that Instructor ratings are not being renewed. I have sent an email to the BMAA Chief Executive asking the question, and as a member of the BMAA I hope to receive an answer. I will let you know as and when. Dave.

Ther is a very small camera available that I know some people have. It a FlyCamOne and is mainly used in RC planes etc. Take a look at the following http://www.flycamone.com/ It costs about £46 plus you need a SD card. the website has the manual in English. Dave.

My understanding is that the higher the octane, the lower the cylinder head temperature will run. So super unleaded is better than normal unleaded, and if you can get it, Avgas is the best !!!! I have been told that Avgas runs 20% less temperature than normal unleaded. Dave.
