  1. IS THIS A WORLD YOU WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN? WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE WORD "FREEDOM?" READ HERE: http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/02042009/36/bl ... ser-0.html 'Black box' for cars getting closer A new system under development will take satellite navigation to the next level, because it can pinpoint the position of a car to within one yard. However, the technology is already causing controversy because it will also allow authorities to 'track' a car's movements and its speed, bringing the possibility of automatic speeding fines. The £36m EU project is partly funded by the UK Government. The tracking system's development is also backed by a number of different manufacturers, including beleaguered US maker GM, because the technology will, it's claimed, reduce accidents, congestion and carbon emissions. It will also make proposed 'pay as you drive' schemes feasible. It works by emitting a pulse every half a second which is picked up by satellites and reveals the car's speed and location. Cars fitted with the device can also 'talk' to each other, and to road signs, so that congestion can be avoided, and even traffic lights changed from red to green. The Department for Transport says it has no plans to enforce makers to use the technology, but said it will need widespread take up to be an effective traffic congestion remedy. Still, Simon Davies of watchdog Privacy International said: 'if you correlate car tracking data with mobile phone data, which can also track people, there is the potential for an almost infallible surveillance system.' 2. Hi. Does anyone know of a cheaper visor that would fit this helmet? http://www.nac-inter.com/product_info.p ... ac6b0c8996 Thanks Dave
  3. I sent a reserve off to Aerofix for a repack, also, a Sting glider for testing about 6 months ago. The reserve was repacked but regarding the glider.. I got a call from Aerofix telling me the glider I was going to buy had failed the porosity test and the recommendation was that the glider stay on the ground as a trainer. I was a bit Suspicious of this glider as the material was silky and soft, not the crispy stuff rustling in the bag as I was expecting. Needless to say I returned the glider. So yes. Thumbs up for Aerofix good quick service Dave
  4. hi. Air cooled engines work well. Why have the added complexity of a water pump that'll need parts sevice and is a steaming kettle as well. the rad is also delicate too as are the rubber hoses, something you don't need on a paramotor. The Sky is a cool looking thing tho but unnecessary imo. Dave
  5. Why on earth would anyone wont a Flattop? We have the very best of everything right here in Europe! This is one sport where Europe leads the way. Motors and wings mostly come from Europe. All the rest is marketing. don't fall for it! dave
  6. I've not got into the air yet as the weather has let us down time and again. I have however done a good bit of ground work with a Synth and found it to be really nice to pull up even in very low winds. If there is ever a wing that might allow you to do a reverse launch in silly low winds it's a Synth. This will be my 3rd wing and I recon I'll be able to enjoy it for a long time without feeling inferior or outdated. As the sport evolves I recon this wing will be "the one" for a good few years to come. Dave
  7. I like the color. Very funky. Also, I'd like to see the glider open and wrap it's self up automatically. Bond style. With a couple of cannons on the front and a pair of hellfire missle launchers under the buggy somewhere it might do well in Afgahnistan. That said it would be a pity to scratch the paint.
  8. Corrrr, yess please Mr. Man. That would be nice
  9. Hi and thanks to all respondents. I'll just order a map. Afterall I wouldn't wonna upset Pete B chilled Cheers. Dave
  10. Togsie. Thanks for trying dude! Nice of ya. But all I see is London. I think the resoloution is all messed up as it looks scewed. If you could post a downloadable *.jpg that would be better. If not, no worries. Thanks again, Dave
  11. Hi there! I'm hoping someone out there can help me out with a question. I'd like to know if someone might have a scan or maybe a CAA e-map of Southend-on Sea and the surrounding areas if they are flyable. Also if it is, what height restrictions might be applicable. I know there is an airport there but don't know what kind it is: ie light or heavy traffic. Thanks for any help offered. Dave
