Sorry about the up-evil you had on Sunday.  We was told that the police saw 24 mobile homes over the wend. Normal number is 4-6.

Hope you journey back was OK and you get it fixed ASP.

I've been ill from Sunday with food poisoning and just really got up today so trying to catch up with things.

I have not spoken to John yet, so not sure what is going on.  He knows someone with a field very close, so maybe that could be an option.  Just for some, it would be hard to get your motor back on the airfield.  Not all of us are posh and have the luxuries of the extra equipment.

Is it OK to use you little right-up and put it as a Post on our website please?

All the best and hope to see you all soon

Forgot to mention that John has sourced a camp site only 3 miles from the airfield which we are looking into.

I know it is not the same, but it can be doable.

Yes, I totally agree.  I see from 0 - 5 vehicles around the reservoir area normally - never in 6 year has there been more than a dozen.

Only dog walkings normally park along the tree line, so they never stay overnight.

I was not on the meeting, but I know Julie is responsible for more than the area of the airfield - so they might of meant that!.

I know that Mark (the PC) done the counting, so you can't really call him a liar.

Tim mentioned that Sunday evening (as he was packing up) a price car and fire engine was going round the airfield kicking off motorhomes again.  The fire brigade was staying that it was a fire risk, because of the peat!!!

Thanks for saying yes for the website and still feeling weak and sh!ting like a good'n :-)

Hope the damage on the van is not too much

      Hi Geoff

You have two choices.  £5 Per day (flying only) or £40 to become a member, for this you can fly mostly 365 days a year and you can stay overnight (wild camping). Also being a member you get any fly-ins for free.

Please note there is no water or electric, only a toilet in the club house.

Email John at info@DavidstowFlyingClub.org, mention you have spoken to me.

He will email some forms.  Read and sign, pay your £40 and you're a member.

I should meet you the first time you arrive, after that, the place is yours.

What a shame.  My Op went worse than it should off and I was off for a good few weeks.  In fact I am just back from a weekend away and that is the first time out the house really.

Hoping to get back in the air tomorrow or Wed before I drive up to the fly-in.

Sounds like you had a good time - flying over your old haunts :-)

Not flown down south yet, but would be awesome to fly from here down there refuel 'somewhere' and fly back again.

Maybe some planning for your next visit.

Take care and hope to see you over again

My Op is not PPG related, but let's say it will be a pain in the arse :-)

Looks like St Mellion to davidstow is 19 miles as the crow flies.

Maybe, if all goes well.  I could meet you at Davidstow and do a refuel, if not take you back to St Mellion!!

I have txt'd you back so hope you have received.

As mentioned before, I'll let you know how the Op goes and what the weather is like over here nearer the time.

Hi, not sure about the weather next week!!!  Pretty crap at the moment with low cloud etc

I'm in for an Op on the 28th Aug and not sure how I'm going to be afterwards to be honest.

What day do you leave Cornwall?

If you give me your mobile number I can contact you if I feel OK?

Are you hoping to fly from Davidstow or someone to fly with??

  8. Hi I’ve just bought a Parajet Maverick and getting trained at the end of July with a mate both from Bodmin, would there be space at Davidstow after this date?

Shame about the wing, because it would be good to get a head start for the first couple of days.

You're still enjoy.  Marerick a lovely motor.  I have the V3 with the Moster185, which is solid and nice - just what I needed :-)

      Enjoy and keep in touch.

Of course.  If you both have a wing I'm happy to give you some lessons on ground handling before you go and any another information that might help?

      Let me know

  10. just out of interest were you flying over launceston over the week end.

Ive yet to dig my paramotor out. its around 350cc, with a large four blade system. bought it off an instructor near Exeter (Nick) many years ago. Needs new starter cog wheel, and wing need checking as it was new, but noticed after there was know certificate on it.

being new at the time trusted an instructor, and also his claims and my first thoughts bought it.

Still have to do my course. Went to do one up in Norwich, and weather prevented it.

I live just outside of Launceston; due to health am not able to drive for 2-6 months at the moment.

may be catch up at some point

Good to here from you. Maybe contact Simon on here and finish a course with him or even go over to FlySpain  and do a full course with them!!

Yes, better get your kit checked before commencing.  350cc seems a big old heavy machine.

At the moment we have another 4 members at Davidstow.  Some live 45-55 minutes away, but pay £25 a year and they can fly down on the airfield any time they wish.

Let me know nearer the time and we can talk.

Good luck on your health side too :-)
