  1. It was the v5s I ordered. Not thinking anything about it, I completed my motor purchase at UKPPG and immediately went on the eprops site and ordered up a prop. That one is clearing customs stateside at the moment, and apparently a v5s will not be following behind.
  2. I was curious enough about a ppg 4stroke that I ordered a bailey v5 motor from UKPPG. Got a email today that my order was cancelled and refunded because Bailey aviation isn't willing to sell the motor alone. Seeing as I can't know what the future holds and always wishing to look at the bright side of things, I'll just mark the experience as the Universe watching out for me. And I've since placed a order for the gravity defiant x. With a 5 gallon tank and a multi-fit mounting place, I'll soldier on with the tried and true moster, while still being open to what the future may bring. On that note, EOS did jump on FB today to post a follow-up comment to someone asking if they can pre-order the Quattro... "Mattias Van Damme , can do,but need some more months before mass production starting" So that's more of the same from EOS, namely empty words. Which may be for the best since it took Bailey 5 versions and Vitto who knows how many to refine their motors. But life goes on, I can't make more time, so just have to get on with it.
  3. If you haven't already, I recommend subscribing to the "paramotor" group on facebook, and search there using both eos 150 and sky 110 as your search terms. The responses on the eos 150, few as they are, tend to be mostly positive - except for the thread you discovered here on paramotorclub. I never ran a search on the eos 100, and am only now doing so on the sky 110.
  4. http://www.cloudbaseppg.com/q-a/useful-links/thrust-table-results?fbclid=IwAR02BArltt7NPc9uUpzLauJH2HtdeWrwj1xp3pWObnQgqb0gtea3DcbktdI I just came across these thrust tables by one of the posters here. Perusing them, I was astonished to see that the sky 110 motor puts out very nearly as much thrust as the moster 185. I just picked up a moster but had I known this prior, I would have done thorough research on that little gem and perhaps gone a different direction. My personal research on the eos150 turned luke-warm - I don't believe it to be the motor I had hoped it to be. But I'm not an owner. YMMV.
  5. I'd been following this thread closely, hoping the eos150 would be my next motor. Just placed an order for the moster. Temps of 417, plus high fuel consumption... I'll pass. But I appreciate all the information and knowledge gained that has been posted. Thank you all.
  6. From the boating article above whether a boat propeller should be locked or not... ...Our graphs show the results, which dramatically confirm that wherever possible you should let your fixed three-blade prop spin. The drag when it was locked was nearly three times the drag when spinning... Conclusion: ‘Let it spin’
  7. Hi bootstrap. I'm waiting on the eos 4 stroke motor that's supposed to be released this year. While trying to find out whether that motor would have electric start or not (I personally prefer it), I received an answer from someone in the inner circle that it starts so easily it isn't necessary, but if the company has any extra time and/or funds to spend on the development, that efi would be a better area. Whether it gets efi or not I do not know. Perhaps at some later date. But it is worth monitoring the situation. Anyways, that's the motor I'm waiting on. It might possibly be a good fit for your situation also. Good times to be living in. Old Rockefeller Senior with his $200 billion or so in today's currency couldn't do what we do regularly, not for any amount of money. Toss in so many other wonderful things (scuba diving, snowboarding, high mountain exploration where you're at) that this certainly is an incredible time to be living in. Good luck in your endeavors and god speed!
  8. I've been waiting on the air conception 280 but now I fancy the eos 150.
  9. That's with a 130cm prop. On paravol.info I found a link to a chart of real world thrust figures which I've attached. If that chart is to be believed, a moster with a 130cm prop makes between 74 to 78 kg of thrust. So this eos 150 has about 5% to 10% less thrust. It also weighs less, and if the fuel consumption is lower than the "thirsty" moster, plus reliable... Also, eos' 4 stroke is due to be released this year. On a side note, on 27 Nov 2013, Miro Svec of Scout paramotors toured the eos factory in Austria and remarked They have engineered everything from scratch without making shortcuts or sticking to common patterns (most engine manufacturers actually use the same Italian pistons and cylinder heads). The EOS pistons are from Japan, the cylinder head from Taiwan, different carb, different airbox, clutch…These guys did everything to keep the weight low. http://www.scoutparamotor.com/review-of-the-new-eos100-light-weight-paramotor-engine/
  10. "Paramotor homemade" on facebook. It's there, it's active, and it's just what you're looking for.
  11. Thanks Mitch. I will have to reconsider. I do wish his website would list the frame weight, size of fuel tank, a video of the setup up and breakdown (my last frame was a PITA to setup - never again), and a function where you could add one to the shopping cart, put in your credit card, and find your package on your doorstep a few days later. In other words, make it easy for prospective customers. At the moment I'm leaning towards a pxp remix as my next unit. I also like air conception, parajet, and adventure (the plumas). But I'm also partial to maximum bang for my buck (dollar/looney/pound/shekel) and pxp seems to be the leader in my search so far. Plus they build to suit. That virus sure is lovely looking though.
  12. Mitchg, How much did it cost you? Frame and harness that is. I'm ready to move on to my second paramotor and I love the look of the virus but the lack of available information scares me. There's too much at stake for me to get it wrong, again, so I'm going to go with one of the bigger outfits. But if Jivko could have that website fully fleshed out with all the necessary information, I'd reconsider.
