  1. I’m after a titanium exhaust for an air conception ultimate 130 ( pull start / no clutch model)
  2. Hi Andy . I'm temped to buy or build a trike myself . I also have an air conception. have you ever had an issue with the hoop flexing back into the moving prop ? I once did a power foot launch on my air conception and "bang" prop hit the hoop.

I try not to use the trike and still foot launch, despite back problems. I always power launch as my back is too knackered to push. I have have never had a an issue with the hoop....but have managed to snag the left side D's , then the prop pull them so hard that it bent the lower frame quarter! Prop was fine. This was on a Tornado....where it is critical to put power on gently. I didn't!

  3. I have an APCO NRG20 and it is a very easy wing to launch . The hybrid is much lighter so will be even easier.
  4. I will give you a sensible answer David. I have only ever deployed my reserve on the ground as a practice just before a repack is due . My instructor however told me he used to train paragliding in Greece . Part of his training included throwing a reserve and coming down over water.
  5. My paramotor has mid hang point "s" bars .The thrust angle is as recommended . Just the application of the speed bar was enough to tilt me forward a little to much .I have since adjusted the hang point so I tilt back a little further.
  6. I was flying in Kent approx 1000 feet up and as I applied the speed bar I heard the noise . I saw the handle dangling above and beyond the hoop . I came off the speed bar .The brake handle had been cut but not completely. Once home I removed the speed bar , sent the wing for repair and I have not used a speed bar since.
  7. I had a brake handle touch the prop when I pushed on the speed bar . Pushing the speed bar tilted me foreword and I hadn't noticed the brake handle was not on the magnet. Very scary...

  10. look up TAG paramotors on the net . I believe he is in Hull. I have spoken to him before . He is very helpful.
  11. It may be worth checking your reed valves .They should stop the fuel coming out of the carb and back into the air box . They act as a non return valve. Also when priming the carb you will probably have some fuel enter the air box as well as the carb.
  12. I have just looked at their website. Way to good to be true.
  13. Nice one Alan . I bet it was a nice slow landing.
  14. Clutched or no clutch air conceptions are both excellent machines . If you are a complete beginner a clutched model may be best . ..you will be less likely to catch a line if you don't launch the wing correctly .The nitro 200 is so light that the extra weight of a clutch is insignificant .They are also very reliable .
  15. No gearbox on the air conception . They are a good reliable machine.
  16. On some models the clutch drives a gearbox .Its the gearbox that can reduce power output slightly not the clutch.
  17. I have had both with and without a clutch . Both have advantages and disadvantages. Clutch ...PROS -smoother when on idle , Less likely to catch a line whilst launching .CONS ...a little less responsive to power up , something else to maintain , if you hit the kill switch then prop still spins for a while..... No clutch ..PROS ...Lighter weight ,prop stops instantly when I hit the kill switch , Less maintenance. CONS .....paramotor shakes on idle , I have caught lines in the prop launching . .I may have missed a few things . but I prefer no clutch. Also and engine running with no prop turning gives a false sense on safety. My engine a prop turn together and you never forget the dangers.I have seen a new pilot play with his throttle cruise control without holding then paramotor frame whilst the engine was running . The frame thrusted forward ..he was fortunate not to have a accident. Hope this helps a little.
  18. >I am planning tandem flights in the near future and I was looking for " spreader bars" on ebay ......Very different spreader bars are for sale on ebay . Have a look . Just make sure the kids are not in view of your computer.
  19. I also practiced my ground handling in parks. Just watch out for dog poo.All the people I met whilst ground handling were very interested . I suspect the council will say no to anything . Its their standard answer.
  20. Try lengthening your shoulder straps to lower the frame on your back . Then tighten your leg straps so that you are lifted without the frame rising up . When I was learning I was told to have my leg straps loose . This was completely incorrect and I found it impossible to get seated as I was too low. I hope this helps.

    Helmet Visor

If you are trying to keep the cost down . Try ebay ....."safety visor" .they start from approx. £2.00 for a wood cutters visor.
  22. I am led to believe that carb diaphrams , primer pumps and fuel lines don't like drying out . I try to fly all year round but if the weather is stopping me for any length of time I prime the carb and turn over the engine.
  23. I thought the same when I started out . Stick with the original brake handles if you can . It will make flying any other wings in the future easy.
  24. My boxer GT only swings very slightly in roughish air on full speed setting but then settles itself out. Im 105kg all up (plus the weight of the fuel ..usually 4 litres) and I am also on the 25M wing.If it does swing I sometimes settle it with a slight brake input but often don't bother as its minimal.
