  1. well if anyone in the region reads this post (Teesside, Durham & Tyneside have to be included here as they dont have their own area forum) then please let me know where you fly from. I would love to come along just to stand in the field and watch you guys get yourselves airborne. I havent seen a paramotor at close quarters since I saw one flying over the beach in Spain some years ago. Id be interested in just talking to people about it initially as I need to weigh up whether the sport is for me
  2. Why is it that other regions seem to have quite a regular post count yet this one hasnt been updated for quite some time? Is it that there just aren't any paramotor pilots up this way?
  3. So thats how cheap it is then 3 litres an hour is very good! What size engines are they? How often do they need a service/rebuild? Are props regular consumables?
  4. As a newbie interested in getting into the sport, Im interested in finding out how often you guys take your paramotors out? Whats the MPG of these machines and how big is the tank? How far do you tend to go in one session?
  5. Thanks Simon, am I right in thinking Paul is the founder of AXB sports? I have found their website. On a separate note, do you think that it is best to take up paragliding first and then go into the training for paramotoring or is it just as good to take a paramotor course?
  6. Folks, Having just found this site, it seems like this must have fairly recently come about, as I have been interested in paramotoring for about 3 years now but never got round to trying to find a suitable school up here in the North East. I have no flying background whatsoever, however i am a keen learner! Motorcycling is my main hobby however I have always wanted to take to the skies! Could anyone give any advice on where to turn first i.e do I look towards doing a course in non-powered paragliding or should I go straight into a paramotor course? Are there any in the Yorkshire/Durham area who would provide training? Lastly, and certainly not least, I understand that Paramotoring is one of the cheapest forms of flying, however I know only too well that a hobby can swallow cash! (Motorbikes aint cheap either!) How much would it cost to include training and kit?
