  1. Hi, I'm Adam, PPG pilot from Poland. Today I had oportunity to fly, test and to do some measurements on Viper 4 20 (75-150kg). This wing was significant overloaded, because my take off weight (incl. Thor 200, wing and 5l of petrol) is about 168-170kg, what gives wing load of 8.5kg/m^2. Unfortunately this is biggest V4 size available now in Poland, and didn't have another possibility to test this wing in more appropriate size. My everyday wing is Hadron 24 (7.1 kg/m^2), and, despite the weight, I'm footflyer. Because totally lack of any numbers about Viper 4 on the net, I decided to put here effects of my today measuring. They may not be 100% accurate, but may be useful for reference. Slow trims, no speed: - level flight speed: 46-47km/h - descending: 1.7-1.9 m/s (with brakes 1.5m/s or even less) - max climb: about 2.1 m/s Half trims (white sewing), no speed: - level flight speed: 51-52km/h - descending: 1.8-2.0 m/s - max climb: about 2.1 m/s Full trims, no speed: - level flight speed: 56-57km/h - descending: 1.9-2.2 m/s - max climb: about 1.8 m/s Half trims (white sewing), full speed: - level flight speed: 74-75km/h - descending: about 4 m/s (but initially even more than 6) - max. climb: 0.7 m/s Full trims, full speed: - level flight speed: 77-78km/h - descending: about 4 m/s - max climb: 0.7 m/s Release the throttle, and free descending gives additional 2-3 km/h. In this configuration T200 is a bit too weak for satisfactory usage, but still enough for thermalling or trips. Despite the wing load take off and landing weren't as demanding as I expected (on slow trims take off speed was very similar to H24), nevertheless landings was quite fast (at least before use brakes at end of flare) and they required a lot of precision. Oscillation (in my setup - wing load, goose neck bars) - a bit with trims, not growing, and only after trigger. Easy to handle with brakes. Much better than V3. In my opinion this is agile, efficient, quite fast and nice wing. Very versatile, great for PPG thermalling, significantly more stable than V3, but still VERY DEMANDING in turbulent condition and for experienced pilots. I'm thinging about buy size 22. Best regards, Adam
