  1. I agree, i ended up selling my V5 and buying a Thor80 and still miss the purr of the Bailey. I really wish someone would buy Paul out and keep developing it
  2. okay that is strange! The disolved company is showing as wound up in 1996 with directors Alan Bailey and Nina Bailey. The active company is here however that company number is for a different company on Companies House so someone has got their data screwed up. https://companycheck.co.uk/nonLimitedCompany/5138882/BAILEY-AVIATION/summary GAZ2(A)-842918400-1.pdf
  3. Its on the screen shots i posted this morning both the active and dissolved company.
  4. I pay for a subscription to a company checking service which is where i took the screen grab from. looks to me like he setup a new company 5 years ago which is will trading and matches the address of his workshop and an older limited company that he has since wound up. His motivation might have been to have a non limited company so less complications in terms of accounting returns etc. I dont there there is anything to worry about (beyond the normal lack of answering the phone / email etc)
  5. Looks like a different company was opened 5 years ago which Paul B also owns possibly dissolving Bailey Aviation ltd to tidy things up
  6. Similar to the above I had always dreamed of flying but did not have the money or people around me to advise what routes there were available. In my 20s I started to learn to paraglide in exchange for designing a website for the school, unfortunately the school shut a few hours into my training. I few years after that I started a RAPS skydiving course and soon realised that I did not enjoy jumping out of the plane (in fact it terrified me!) But I did enjoy the canopy control. After 14 jumps and a bad exit that spooked me (I briefly blacked out while opening) I decided to give up skydiving. Then in my 30s a Paramotor flew over my house and I thought "I have to do this" I now had the cash so did a BHPA course and bought my kit. A year later I did my hill course as well. Three years later I am now half way through my PPL and am obsessed with any form of aviation. I still paraglide and Paramotor but want to go on some longer adventures in a light aircraft. My only regret is not starting sooner.
  7. Please see ebay for more info and buy it now https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bailey-V5-paramotor-only-10-hours-on-engine-new-style-harness/202105225105
  8. Without a doubt. What I want to do is make sure the same does not happen to someone else. BTW I was friends with the deceased pilot.
  9. My understanding is they are added at the factory but still have the en a badge on the wing even though it makes it technically un certified
  10. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE - The accident investigation report has been published regarding a fatal incident at Pilling last year. The report details 3 key contributing factors, one of the major factors was the JoJo wing the pilot was flying. If anyone reading this owns or knows someone that owns a JoJo instinct wing for your safety stop using it immediately! The report has found that the 2005 design wing although rated as an EN A had been modified by JoJo to fit power risers. This modification (in the opinion of the inquest) has made the wing the equivalent of a EN D thus making it unstable and unable to recover from a collapse without major pilot input (beyond the ability of a beginner / intermediate pilot). These wings have been sold to beginners who are literally risking their lives with each flight. Please, Please share this with anyone you know that owns one. The BHPA will be issuing a safety notice in Skywings but this only goes to its members of with the majority of JoJo owners are not a member. The pilot suffered a collapse below 200ft which likely became unrecoverable due to the design of the wing. http://www.bhpa.co.uk/documents/safety/formal_investigations/index.php?doc=2016_10_23_ppg-pilling-lancs.pdf
  11. I messaged Paul Bailey directly and he said there are no problems with the business other than being too busy to answer the phone! He said the website should be back online soon (looks like miss configuration to me). My previous experience is having to just turn up in person, not ideal but I have always got my issues fixed.
  12. Given the site is down what email address is best? I used pb@baileyaviation.com last time. I have two baileys now and am selling one, unfortunately the buyer has been spooked by rumours they are going bust which is understandable. In the past I have just driven to his workshop as they never answer the phone.
  13. It was advertised by Gin as being designed by PCJ at Paramania and at the time Gin were manufacturing all the Paramania so it is probably very close in design.
  14. I fly a Gin Mirage, there are a few knocking about in the UK but they are quite rare. Its a nice wing.
  15. Further update on this to put anyone's fears to rest regarding Baileys support they have now employed Paul Mahony as Office Manager. Paul is a Paramotor instructor and extremely helpful. I had a replacement cage quarter delivered in a few days of ordering it.
