  2. Hi The big questions How long is the course and how much are you charging for conversion from footlaunch to wheels. I cant see that combination on your price list. Col...
  3. Hi I just cant follow their logic. The official cause was non sighting by the commercial jet ( inadequate lookout is how I read that) Yet their answer is to recommend investigating into the training and licensing of paramotors. Who (although agreed not the most sensible place to fly) was flying in accordance with all the relative regulations that applied to him. Why aren't they recommending investigation into the commercial (professional remember) Pilots training in relevance to "G" class airspace and lookout requirements. Which I am sure are a lot different from their usual approach habits at airfields with airspace restrictions and control centre where they know that everything inside is being actively managed . Do no maybe its just me but is a bit off. Ducking and covering Col...
  4. Hi We always recommend to our students to spend the money on a new wing and save on the motor in the secondhand market. Theory being motor stops not a biggie your still flying and you go land ( as being a good pilot you would have been keeping an emergency landing options open at all times). On the other hand wing stops working things ar'nt just as rosie Trouble with second hand wings is unless you personally know the guy selling you have no idea to its history. For all you know its someone who bought it new went on an SIV course landed in the sea 4-5 times over the week ( cos you do) rinsed it out and sells it quite truthfully as a low hour six month old glider But give it another 6 months and all those salt crystals will done their damage and its a worn out throw away hanky. thats my tuppence worth. Cheers Col....

  7. Hi if you give the loft or aerofix a shout they should be able to supply you with "sticky wing" material in whatever colour you need. Cut it to have a 1/4inch overlap all round. round off the corners of the patch then stick it on the back of the hole put another over the front. Obviously dont have any creases and put the edges of the tear as close together as you can with out mis-shaping the wing. Thats it all good.. cheers Col..

  18. Hi, Welcome to the forum. DONT BUY ANYTHING YET Your first move is to find an instructor and get some training then think about buying kit. Your instructor will advise you on the wing motor combination that will suit you. Also the type of flying you want to do will have a bearing on the kit you choose again your instrutor would advise you . As the sport is unregulated there are no medical requirements but if your problem is to do with pressure it may be a concern. Have a read of the training blogs on the forum they should give you some idea of what to expect etc.... Hope thats been some help. Cheers Col.....
  19. hi Polini do one for £165 inc the cht bit http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... q8kTLTRguA Hope that helps Cheers Col.....
  20. Hi Carmen, Welcome to the forum. There are women flying paramotors though in fairly small numbers so far. I dont really know why as its well within most peoples ability. Your size and weight will have no real effect on whether you have a collaps or not as you buy kit to suit your size and weight. If your small and light you have a smaller wing and one of the smaller paramotors which usually makes them lighter and more manageable for the smaller person. Your instructor should be able to point you toward the right kit for you Collapses arn't as common with paramotoring as they are with paragliding as we tend to fly in calmer less active air. They do happen very occasionally and usually caused by flying in rough conditions but tend to be done and popped out before you notice it. Hope thats helped. Have a look at some of the training blogs and it will give you an idea of what to expect.. Cheers Col.....
