  7. Hi I log onto the forum using AOL version 9 and all the other forums I frequent. 8. Hi Simon, Ok I can take a hint and invest the tenner . Might not make it those particular dates as I'm hoping to be in the Isle of Man watching the TT and maybe getting some flying in as well. I'll be at the party by the pond at the end of the month though and some landing coatching would'nt go amiss . if poss. By the way if anyone else wants to come along to the Isle of Man I plan to travel up to haysham dump the car and go as a walk on passanger on the ferry with all the kit then camp and fly and watch the racing for the next 6 days or so. Your more than welcome just drop me an E-mail and we can work out a plan. I still need to check out the flying situation as I'm sure there will be a NOTAMS in place during the period for the emergency chopper but need details of how far reaching it is. Cheers Col......
  9. Hi Tony, Welcome to the fold. glad to hear your enjoying it. Nothing wrong with secondhand Kit there are some real bargaines out there. All mine was bought off Ebay motor, wing, reserve, GPS, Vario, radio, gloves, helmet, flying suit, windsock and wind meter it can be a bit of a gamble but do your research you should be ok. If you can talk to the seller before you buy it helps a lot. If they dont seem to know about what they are selling I would be a bit suspect especialy in the wing/motor department. Apart from that its usually ok at least in my experiance. I think i spent about £2500 in total 1/3-1/4 new kit prices. Hoping to go to the flyin myself and I belive a few of the other guys are going as well so hope to see you there. Cheers for now Col....
  10. Hi Simon, Was a great day and any of you guys that didnt make it realy missed out. My First time flying in company so a bit nervy but realy enjoyed it. Ive posted on the other thread so wont repeat on this one. Cheers Everyone and lets do it again real soon. Col......
  11. Hi All that were at lambourn yesterday. Must agree with Simon was a great day. First flights on my (new to me) Action were great and my first XC somewhere between 20 and 24km out and return was just brill. Got to work on those landings though still coming in a bit too hot but no injurys or damage except maybe to my pride. I'll get there dont worry. Cheers to all the lads and Rachel for all the advice, help, cups of tea and convesation. Looking forward to the next one. Its looking flyable this morning but looks like its going to blow out about 11ish according to the forecast. Tempted but think I should catch up on sleep (12hr shift fri night, fly all Sat, 12hr shift last night). Take care everyone and see you all soon. Cheers Col......
  12. Hi EP, I agree with you that the ability to have a nickname and your proper name would be good. I'll drop Simon a PM and see what he can do. I made my e-mail address visible on the members list just for that reason its got my proper name but the guys at work decided that i would end up just a Weesplat when I told them what I was going to start paramotoring and it kind of stuck. I use it on all the forums that I join now just out of habit. Cheers Col / Weesplat
  13. Hi All, Just been looking at the profiles page and noticed that a lot of you guys are leaving out your location. If you put a location onto your profile it would really increase the chances of that surprise phone call or e-mail from other members that are in your area to come for a spur of the moment flight. Just an idea. Cheers Col........
  14. Hi Marco, I agree with what you say but it was perfectly flyable just ran out of light. Sun went down darkness decended. So had to land. It was more to do with the amount of effort for a 10-15 min flight. Cheers Col....
  15. Well are you? I know I was. So when I got home from work at 7.30 this evening and noticed that the wind had died to a gentle breeze I realised there was a chance so a bit of a rush and a quick call to Simon w to check it was ok to use the Lambourn site saw me on my way to THE FIELD about half hour drive for me. Arrived and got the motor assembled and run up, spilled the wing out on the deck, untangled lines etc, the Sun sinking toward the horizon at a rate of knots or so it seemed, flight suit on, strapped into the motor, hooked onto the risers, aimed into wind, even tension, two steps back and go go go, I'm up and away. Total flight time about 15mins got a bit blustery about 150 feet and the sun was on and sinking below the horizon so only got to circle the field 2 maybe three times before I had to land. Was it worth it. You bet!!! Cheers for the hand folding the wing Simon and for the chat which saw us leaving in total darkness. So are you desperate for a flight? or have you got a story of a mad scrabble to get one. Put it on the forum for us all to read/relate to. Again Cheers Simon I needed that. Col....
  16. Hi Simon, Depending on dates work commitments ect I would be very interested in flying. Sounds like a good time is to be had. Look forward to hearing the details. Cheers Col....
