  1. Could be an air leak from the carb side or exhaust manifold, but I doubt it since it has received full service recently. Maybe gasket or something in the carburator? The ignition timing is adjustable with the ignition wheel (which also is a fan) on the back side. But changing the timing requires losening the ignition wheel which cannot be done while the motor is running... I have a "catch" filter below the tank in order to avoid the motor stopping at low fuel levels (torque while airborne can move fuel away from the fuel exit on the tank), in addition to a smaller filter further up just before the fuel intake on the carburator. Frequently I can see "trapped" air bubbles in this 2nd filter. The bubbles appear to be trapped on one side since the filter is not aligned perfectly vertical..
  2. Carburator: Walbro 24 After warming / running up for a few minutes, the idle varies between 2100 and 2400, continiusly increasing and decreasing slowly. I had the engine in for service with the distributor, but the idle is still like this and has been since I received the engine brand new. Any ideas? I don't think it's the fuel system as I've replaced all tubes and the 2 filters. The colour of the spark plug is okay (light brown).
  3. Thanks! My engine is fitted to the lower half part of the cage with 4 bolts, so the frame would be permanently attached to the cage construction.
  4. The Peltors attached to my helmet have 35 dB SNR. For a discussion about SNR (Single Number Rating) vs NRR (Noise Reduction Rating), look here: http://www.ehow.com/info_8576199_differ ... r-nrr.html The ratings are different (and in general the SNR rating gives a higher value than the corresponding NRR rating). My 540As (which presumably are the same as the Optime IIIs), seems to have a very high rating (34 dB SNR for the Helmet Version). I have not been able to find any higher rating than that. But I will continue to look.
  5. Can you please elaborate about the meaning of "frame" (excuse my ignorance - I'm not a native English speaker). If I google "paramotor cage" I get pictures of the cage (with the frame). But maybe there is a difference between frame and cage in English. Cheers!
  6. Hello there, Does anybody have a 3 or 4 part cage for a PAP 1400? I have the ROS 125 engine. I'm interested in buying or replacing with my 2-part cage. email btbjornar AT yahoo.no Cheers! Bjornar
  7. Hello there I have a NAC intercom helmet with earpuffs (Peltor H540A) and a mic/speakers/radio connection. In my early days of PPG 10+ years ago I didn't wear much hearing protection and probably suffered some hearing loss. Now, I fly with this helmet along with ear plugs (German made high quality foam). However, I still feel that the noise level is too high. Does anybody know of any ear muffs (preferably w/radio connection) that is better in terms of protection? Cheers! Bjornar
