  1. Big tip , always wear gloves .If you get dragged you have to grab as many of the rear lines as you can , this will kill the wing. doing it bare handed will cut and burn you ,it hurts .Mal.
  2. Todays Mail on line [ i wouldn't pay for the rag ] has an article on this incident. Under a picture of the jetman under a chute it has the following " The motorised parachutes can be bought online as kits for around £1500. Anyone have any idea where ? Mal.
  3. Shane I know next to nothing about this game [until a few months ago I thought split As was a crude reference to the fairer sex].However for what it's worth a couple of thoughts . If you do it right your ground handling will get a stone at least off you ,it did me. I don't think you need to worry too much about the power of the engine, a good wing of the right size is more important I think . Good luck and I hope some one more clued up can chime in and help you out . Mal.
  4. Your in luck. Contact Danny Moon at Boston Aero club. Excellent pilot and instructor and a really nice bloke. I have had two tandems with Danny and loved every second. Mal.
  5. Progress, took of the carb back plate cleaned and refitted and no air bubbles. Odd and potentially dangerous thing happened when I started it up with air in the fuel line. Engine picked up revs [prop is off] so tried the kill switch ,didn't work so I flipped the plug cap off and she still ran .I think the engine must have been running in diesel mode. So an air leak in flight could give an out of control engine, when my new primer pump arrives I'll fit it where I can give it a squeeze. Cheers.
  6. Hello everyone , today I decided to fix the bubble problem my Ros 100 powered Seraph Backbone has. Replaced the fuel line with Tygon , a continuous run from clunk/filter in the tank to the carb inlet with one joint half way up the frame [proper job].Took out the priming bulb and fuel filter . Still have bubbles and I am pretty sure they originate in the carb and run up into the fuel tube.I'll order a carb kit but in the mean time anyone have experience of this ? , or any other ideas, Thanks. Forgot to mention Carb is a Walbro WB32.
  7. All sorted, thanks for the help.Best thing i did was take the wench to help out.Must be all that knit one purl one she does as she was much better than i at sorting the tangles. Mal.
  8. Thanks for the sound advice everyone, now all i need is a calm day or a big shed.Oh and some socks. Mal.
  9. Hello all, hope to sort out my tangled lines am,third attempt.Tried to do it in a bit of wind and learned a lot. Thanks to this forum i know to start from the wing on the A lines and work towards the risers, though any other help appreciated.Question is this ,why is it frowned on to remove lines from the risers and replace with care once sorted ? Thanks,Mal.
  10. Nice one mate, other problem with yellow is it attracts bugs.Still, park your wing away from you and wear red and your tea breaks will be more bug free. Mal.
  11. I take it from its name that this machine is a tandem ? Mal.
  12. Well done mate, would have liked to hear the motor and the wind rather than the (quite good] music.Nice looking machine for my old age. Mal.
  13. Did the job today,no problem apart from the gooieness of the grease.Decided to go back to grease as when Ros changed from grease to oil they added a seal ,presumably to protect the clutch.Very hard to measure out 150 grams of grease, sticks to everthing.Put in a little more than required and will run the unit ,prop off,to deal with any overflow. Mal. PS though i have not flown yet and know nothing in real terms I know i will never face plant. My nose will prevent that.Regards,Mal.
  14. Thanks for that enzo, was inclined to go with oil.May get the drive cover drilled and tapped for a level indicator while it's off the engine. Regards Mal.
  15. Why thankyou Simon , May all your meetings with Paramedics be social. Mal.
