  1. Hi - I've been doing my training in the UK, but with our inclement weather I've only managed 4 flights so far. It's starting to get me down. If I were to book a week off work, is there somewhere (France/Spain etc) where the conditions would allow more consistent certainty of weather suitable for flights? There have been loads of nice early mornings, but alas I'm not ready to make use of them yet, such a shame.....I just want to be able to fly, when I like (weather permitting of course) and not have to keep watching nice days tick by while my gear just sits waiting....
  2. I hope I like my revo 2 when I move on to it.... I can't afford another...
  3. Just a fun question, before someone beats me up for asking What was the first wing you flew on, are you still on it, was it yours? Me... Sky Cima K2, Its still the only wing I have flown so far as its what my training school uses for new pilots. Hoping to progress onto my own Revo 2 as soon as possible. It seems a bit easier to forward launch, but I'm sure as I get better skills and move onto my wing and get more experience with it, it will be just as easy (hopes). So, what did you learn on, what have you got now?
  4. Sorry but swap it for one you do understand is just stupid... no matter which one I bought, I would have to learn about it...and if we all had that attitude we would still be sucking dummies whilst go ga ga ga. My brain is quite capable of learning new things...here seemed a sensible place to ask i.e. "swat up on it" - quite clearly you dont know the answer to my question, but thanks for your wonderful input into the thread. Ok lets rephrase the question. I'm quite comfortable with the altitude and ascent/descent rate functions on my Vario, but it does a lot more. Has anyone else on here got one who knows more about the raft of functions and which ones may be of interest to me as a paramotor rather than a paraglider pilot. Yes I can read up on mccready, speed to fly, thermal sniffers.... etc etc... but many of these are probably more aimed at the paraglider market? btw - thats a question.... No doubt some are useful to me, some not so much.... just curious.
  5. Ok.... so I have one. Not really sure about its use. The manual kind of assumes you know what all the things are telling you. Any words of wisdom??
  6. 5days into my training and because of this damn weather there is such a gap between each visit we just end up repeating what we have done. This weeks weather looks just as rubbish. Starting to feel like we'll never get off the ground. ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!! Inspire me peeps... please inspire me....
  7. anyone got one they no longer need? also ground handling harness required...
  8. Cheers - so it would be buy a little bit british then
  9. ok folks having read the stuff on here, I've taken a second look into the Bulldog. Afterall "buy british" and all that.. However, I do have one question, exactly what part of it is actually British?
  10. Cheers.. The size of the mesh was a concern of mine, not sure why they have such open meshing, it would be simple for them to improve this. My instructor has recommended the EC, hes a good bloke and I dont think he has any interest in me getting the wrong kit. I know much of it is personal preference and thank god we all have different opinions, else we would live in a very boring world, but it is interesting to hear the views. So far, I guess the biggest concern I have left is the mesh... I was considering eleccy start, but after listening to people, it seems the extra weight more than offsets any benefit.
  11. Thanks guys. Really handy to hear from both sides. As I like the EC, dont know of a local bulldog seller and think I'll stick with the original choice. Good to hear they are good at customer service/updates etc as to me, that is important. Cheers. Wrat
  12. Indeed Alan, a long day at work and fat fingers, equals the odd typo' - anyway, thanks for your useful input to the thread. Wrat. Anyway, what is the reason you guys say bulldog? What are the benefits of a bulldog vs the EC? Cheers.
  13. Thanks - could you eludicate?
