  1. I have the same problem. I've yet to attempt a solution yet, but am keeping an eye out and will post if I find something that works. Keven
  2. Thanks for the reply, Alan. I'll keep my hopes up that the headset has another Mic out. Now I wish I had got the MP005A instead of the MP005! And just to update my last post: Made a call with a Droid 2 (uses same as connector as iPhone) and it works great! I could hear them crystal clear. I made 3 calls and each said they could hear me quite well, but they could hear my wind/motor noise any time I wasn't talking. The Pandora was quite enjoyable, too.
  3. I just finished setting mine up. Here's the gist: Same Icaro helmet with MA headset with adapter for VXA-220. I got the MP005 for cell and MP3. But instead of using it for that, I: -rewired the red connector to work with a standard FRS radio (Garmin Rino 120) -removed blue MP3 cable and replaced with 4-conductor cable to use with iPhone/Droid Currently, it works pretty well. I haven't made a call from the air to really test it yet, but I will tomorrow. The only problem is that I had to use the same microphone pin for the cell and radio. Thus, I have to use the Garmin on VOX because if I press the PTT button, it grounds the mic pin, which performs all of the following functions on a cell phone: call/end call and play/pause music. The VOX alleviates that, though. What would make it PERFECT is if I can get the pinout for a MP002 (2nd radio) connector so I know which pin to use for a second mic. Anybody seeing this have an MP002 "Second Radio Lead"? I could really use some information from it! But, just to state how much I like and how awesome the MA headset is, with the current setup, I can be listening to music or on a phone call while simultaneously communicating with my buddy on his 2-way radio and monitoring CTAF in my area on the airband. It's pretty BAMF. Especially since the airband takes priority and mutes the other inputs when receiving air traffic.
  4. Thanks, Al. And thank you for the links, enzo. With some crafty schedule work and the help of Mr. Frank Rawley of Pensacola, it looks like I'll eventually make it into the air. Maybe not next week...but I'll get there soon enough! Keven
  5. All, This is kind of a moot subject now. Don't want anybody wasting their time reading further, so if I figure out how to delete the thread, I'll get it out of the way. Hello, all. I'm looking for some training and wondering if you might be able to help. I'll explain my situation first: I'm an Army flight student (rotary wing) at Ft. Rucker, AL. I've been interested in PPG for some time now and have finally invested in my own gear. I haven't flown yet, but have read the PPG Bible, watched Risk & Reward, met with a somewhat local instructor, and started a little introductory practice with handling the wing (in addition to speaking with several people about the sport and getting started). My schedule is what has limited me for the most part. I just found out that I have all next week off on leave and am hoping to spend it getting trained up as this is the last solid block of time I will have free until October. The two instructors I have found within a 2 hour radius (David with Alabama Paratoys in Montgomery, AL and John Black at Freedom Flight Center in Panama City Beach) are not available for training next week. Does anyone have any recommendations for an instructor in the Alabama, Florida, Georgia area who may be available? I've made some calls/sent emails/done some looking around (this post isn't my first step), but I want to check for some input from the people who already know. So any advice is always appreciated! Thanks, everybody! Keven
  6. Thanks to all for the replies! (and the warm welcome, Simon) Morgy: As Pete_b said. Pauldeakin: Much obliged, sir! I owe you a beer!
  7. Hello all and thanks in advance! Roommate and I just got a good deal on this paramotor. Runs great, but the clutch shoes are shot. Does anybody recognize this make/model/motor and know what clutch it needs and where I can get my hands on those clutch shoes? Or at least what paramotor/engine it is to get me started in the right direction? Any info anybody has would be greatly appreciated! Keven
