All this wet weather has given me chance to fiddle about in the workshop, this is the Mk 3 version, they will stay in place when just wheeling it around but would need a fixing method to fly with them. each one is about 300gm including the wheel. Better pictures on the post below

Nope, they are entirely re-usable. Of course, "uni" was ten years ago now so I have no idea if they still make them, or if you can get hold of them over here. RS online sell them, coincidentally I have just found some on a bit of farm machinery I was modifying, being a tight fisted farmer I used them again!

Are they single use?

I think they either need to be on there or carried for flying, assuming I actually get around to doing a cross country I don't fancy having to carry everything if I have an engine out, long gone are the days when I could tab with 30kg+ of kit across country.

I had thought about doing that but the wheels will then be be taking the weight when it's upright rather than it resting on the frame, this would make it more likely to tip backwards when just plonked on the ground. It would also mean a heavy landing (at which I'm pretty good!) would bend the wheels and axle and transmit this force into the frame. I suppose if the wheels were lower it would be possible to do a wheeled landing especially if wearing a pair of roller skates or something! Have you had a flight from your new field away from Simon's reassuring presencce yet!?

A single axle would mean fixing/drilling to the main uprights,it would also make it hard to get the tank out without it being removable, a bracket made with a bit of the right size tube and curved upright fitting to the same profile as the existing tube would mean no drilling on the frame as it could be held in place by a clamp. It would also allow me to move the axle lightly further forward which will give more ground clearance when it is in the 'towing' position.

I have fixed some wheels on my volution, just a cobble up at the moment to see if it would work, with cable ties but it is secure and will take the full weight plus wing tied to the cage. For a permanent attachment I will make up a small bracket to fit in the bottom tube then weld a small stub axle on each one.The wheels came off an old pressure washer I had lying around (don't buy a Stihl washer they are carp!)Thoughts?

There should be a number on the head of the bolt 8.8, 10.9 etc this is the bolt strength should be able to get them on ebay or sometimes in screwfix

If you use a local bearing specialist DON'T go to Eriks, the robbing bar stewards charged me £22 for a simple v belt that I could have got off ebay for £3

I have a minari volution and am struggling to find somewhere to mount the reserve. I would rather not have it front mounted if possible, it's a big apco 160kg mayday. Any suggestions?

Is it correct that, if it is possible to foot launch the trike you don't need the microlite qualification? If thats so and you do use the wheels are you breaking the law? Just curious like

Well done Pat, I must have just missed you yesterday, I had 1 one duff take off, then managed to get up but couldn't get in the seat, so 1 circuit then, a very dodgy landing in the nettles.

I managed to get it together! Have I got the prop mounted correctly? I have the prop next to the pulley then the alloy bush, then the mounting plate. I haven't run it yet, need some petrol, do I use the cheap unleaded or the expensive stuff?

Hi no kit yet hopefully in the next couple of weeks, unfortunately I have pulled a tendon in the back of my knee so running is difficult at the moment but its getting better slowly.
