Cracking pictures Seymore. Belated Happy Birthday, hope you had a good time. Kevin
  2. Hi Barry It's rare I have my finger on the pulse of local flying issues, and nothing has changed as I've only just read your mail regarding Hambrook. It's a shame we've lost a site where we can all meet up and fly. The agreement Teresa and I have with a local farmer is for two flyers max for a few days a month so not much scope for a fly in! Thanks very much for all the work you put into Hambrook and I hope you will still be able to fly from there. As always I'll keep my eyes peeled for a suitable flying site that we can all fly from, and I'll let you know if anything turns up. Good luck for 2013. Kevin
  3. Hi Check out The British hang gliding and Paragliding association. lots of info and details on www.bhpa.co.uk Regards Teresa
  4. It's always worth giving me a call, I won't leave you stranded. Problem is, if the weathers good I'll be flying or out on my mo'cycle. Or working up in the Shiteland Isles. You have my numbers. Good luck Kevin
  5. Hi anyone got any suggestions regarding kit insurance? Has anyone got a ppg on their home insurance? Thanks Teresa and Kevin
  6. 300kg of pastry? That's gonna be a big pie! It will need at least 25l of gravy and 100kg of chips to go with it. That would take me at least a weekend to eat - mmm yummy. Do you make fish pies? I still remember releasing that big cod (?) you caught when we were diving a wreck of Brighton. You handed it over to me and i let it go. I hadn't realised you had plans for it until we were back up on the boat!! No ppg'ing for me. I'm up in Shiteland with strong winds gusting to 53kts! And England lost to the Taffs so not happy Back a week Tuesday. Have fun Kevin
  7. Will Hambrook be open? I have some flying I want to do. Teresa
  8. I've made a map showing the bird sanctuary and our field. I've laminated several copies and will get them to Barry this lunchtime. Maybe keep them in the flying field office (tractor!). Kevin
  9. I agree with Barry, I think it's reasonable to fly above 500' altitude (mean sea level) in this area. It shouldn't restrict us if we're planning to head for Portsmouth as we will be above 500' anyway. It's advisory, so it's not a mandatory no fly zone (below 500') and the CAA will not prosecute if there are infringements. However, if someone flys into the zone and disturbs the wild life they could be prosecuted i.a.w. various wild life protection acts. And it will bring our sport into disrepute!! There are a few nature reserves around HG/PPG sites that we have had to deal with for a number of years. Beachy Head springs to mind. It's never been too much of a problem but the key is to make sure everyone is aware! I can print and laminate several copies of the chart and leave them in the tractor, if you like. Atb Kevin
  10. Hi Barry Thanks for the info. I'll print and laminate the updated no fly areas for members and visitors and leave them tucked into the tractor, somewhere not too obvious. I'll include the Chidham area and do you think it's worth highlighting the field entry exit corridor, i.e. to/from the north over the pylons and the dog leg to the south over the scrap yard? Cheers Kevin
  11. Hi Bazza - I've sent you 100 quid from Teresa and I. Teresa - You're on stoppage of nookie until I get my 50 quid. Barry - Can i have a shot of your Nuke please? Mark - I hope you get a shot of the 4S Nirvana. Let me know what you think. I'm back Tuesday. See you all next week if it's flyable. Kevin
  12. Hi Barry I can confirm that Teresa and I are willing to pay annual costs for the Hambrook flying site. When do you want the dosh? For fifty quid I hope to get access to the field, canteen facilities, toilets, showers, the grass mown and weeded once a week, bar, someone to assemble my gear and pick me up when I land out (that'l be Teresa, then!) and an on site PPG shop. If I'm going to fork out 96 pence a week I want to see something for my money!! Thanks for putting the work in. Kevin
  13. Hi Guys I have added the heights to the new map and printed off several copies to hand out tomorrow. TT and I will be there tomorrow am then we're off to the rugby at the Stoop. I'll hide spare copies on/in the old tractor tractor so help yourself. Maybe see you Sunday as well, wx permitting. atb Kevin
  14. Hi morgy. Thanks for opening up the field. The tractor man turned up just after Luke took of so I quickly threw the gear back into the car and departed the field. I didn't want to risk upsetting him!! Hope you both had a good flight. Did you find your phone? Kevin
