  1. In case any of you guys are interested the first 8 songs on my page were recorded at that gig last Thursday. Flyin High is there, best we've ever performed it! http://www.myspace.com/thesodburys
  2. Thanks for coming last night chaps, really appreciated as so many people say they'll come and don't! We're back there again I believe on Friday 4th December sharing the evening with a great Swindon band called Devolution! Cheers Malc
  3. You won't be, there's a pigeon fancier called Seth who'll be there drinking half a Courage Best and making it last the evening, he likes to talk about his pigeons, you'll get on great!

Its a great sense of satisfaction too. I didn't donate until Jan 2008 and have now done it 4 times, not much of your time to do this really important service for your fellow beings! Good on ya Dan for bringing it up!
  5. I know, I promise you guys that you'll be a little more surprised than you thought you would be on the night! Nothing like a friendly audience to bring out the best in you! Cheers Malc
  6. Excellent chaps, it'll be a fun night for sure! Bring the cameras along like good soldiers won't you!!
  7. Alrighty folks, I have a gig with the band on Thursday night in Swindon, its a first time for us in Swindon so we could do with lots of rowdy hooligans to get in there and scream and shout a bit, I probably can't afford to buy anyone a pint but I can assure you of some hospitality from my missus at the next fly-in, not in sexual way though!! The Rolleston , Commercial Street, Swindon Thursday 13th August at 8.30pm..ish I know a few of you are fairly local so would appreciate the support, oh and we WILL be performing Flyin High of course! Cheers Malc http://www.myspace.com/thesodburys
  8. I've got this TZ7 now. It'll take me a while to figure it all out but first impressions are fantastic, the zoom is just brilliant with the anti shake and the HD Video is a bit good too, don't have any pictures of anything interesting at the moment though, need a flight! Cheers Malc
  9. have no idea but i'll find out and let you know! cheers malc
  10. Was that you Simon with your club wing trying to take off with a go kart on Childen's BBC? Whats that all about then?
  11. Just to add that both these machines are now sold so no need to send me a message about them! Cheers Malc
  12. I didn't, I was a bit skint for a while there but it should be here by next week. I borrowed a Fuji last year and found all the colours were wishy washy!
  13. An electrical device that might cause a spark if I have a petrol leak?, I'll stick with a colourful wing and hope for the best thanks!

    USA Video to UK DVD.

Simon, I believe most vhs players will play this but you have to go online to find out how to crack the code to switch yours over to NTSC or whatever. All over my head but I was told once by a friend of a man in a pub walking his dog that it is cheaper to build the machines with all formats catered for and just change the settings and the badge for the particular country! Try sticking your model number in Google and see what happens! Cheers Malc
  17. Dan Fear not, it didn't happen, lack of wind, uphill take off and rain spoiled our plans! Feel free to PM me your email details if you want to be added to the south west pool and receive all the emails of who is going where, send phone number too! Cheers Malc
  18. Hi Folks A few of us are planning an XC triangle this evening from Junction 18 of M4 along to Badminton, Hawkesbury Upton, Yate and back, should take around 70 minutes I reckon. Call me for directions if anyone wants to join us! 07894 707965 Meeting at Tormarton at around 6.30 to set up, aim for TO at 7.30ish. Cheers Malc
  19. And another tonight, even better than the last one! 2 in a row, sorted!!
  20. I can't accept congrats for it, it was my 20th flight for goodness sake, but I guess we all have different rates of learning and confidence, I actually felt like I knew what I was doing last night which was a first for me! Having the guy that taught me watching me probably helped a bit too! It was Tormarton by the way, right next to Junction 18 of M4. Cheers Malc
  21. My local farmer has just cut his field and its a different one than I had last year so went up to check it out last night. Bloody fab, no obstructions other than low walls but its a big field, it slopes off in most directions too so easy take off an most importantly its surrounded by other flat fields and nobody to upset. Did my first ever reverse launch take off last night, lots of tight turns and low flybys and a perfect landing, awesome! Will try to arrange a fly in sometime! Cheers Malc
  22. Excellent stuff, congrats on the first one and a bloody good landing too! After 19 flights I still can't land anywhere near that damn good!
  23. I'll have one or two too, website doesn't tell you where you can buy them! But I'll pay no more than 6 of your English pounds I tell you! Malc
  24. I keep it topped up so its ready to fly and I generally decide how long I'm up for once I'm airborne, if I have a full tank then I have a choice, if I have 3 litres I don't and I hate the thought of running out. I see your point about effort but if I can haul my arse off the ground with all that weight on board then its good practice and fitness. I must admit though I did have to abort a marathon run on Monday after failing to unstick, slightly uphill and virtually nil wind! Different strokes for different folks, personally if I couldn't afford a reserve then I wouldn't fly but each to their own! Cheers Malc
  25. I honestly think that if you don't fly without a reserve then you had just as well go and put your neck on a railway line! It weighs a couple of kg, its not like it weighs you down, I'm 105kg ish and never take off with less than 10 litres of fuel! I believe it should be a LEGAL requirement to fly with one as you could so easily injur others when you hit the ground like a speeding bullet with no warning!
