  1. Hi Guys Has anyone got some info regarding the EOS 100 Booster engine. The 150 would be too powerful for me as I am only about 60kg I think Simon uses the 150. I currently have a Top80 but only the 110 cm version and its a bit underpowered on a hot day. The 100 gives more power for the same weight range but not as much as the Moster or EOS 150. Thanks Hadders
  2. Try Midland Paramotors, they don't have contact details but have a prop ordering service. I have bought two from them I think they are made in Belarus and take about 10 days to arrive. Cost from memory around £125.00. I have a Top80 but 110cm which is not the normal one but no problem. You just fill out the form which has about 6 questions to ensure they make the exact prop for your engine/gearbox set up. All done on email. One thing the last one had incorrect customs data so I had to pay about £20 to clear it from the Post Office. Regards Hadders
  3. Also a quick flight yesterday pm. Loads of locals taking advantage of the weather window. The guys with trikes made the taking off in the nil wind look easy. I managed a first time forward but used the 'power up' first method, gave it about 30 seconds and the take off was really easy and smooth. Will now practice this technique. I had just recently watched the Sky School training video (you tube) and Alex Ledgers video is worth watching it's very informative. Trust of use
  4. glad you sorted it, the general advise with problems like yours is first changed the carb kit and some people say do this as an annual maintenance as its quite cheap and the modern fuel affects the carb membranes. I also have had engine issues but finally found that the reed valve body was damaged/leaking a replacement solved that issue but it took ages to find! Can be very frustrating at times
  5. Can anyone advise me on the old Snap 100 engine. I only weigh 65 Kilos so well within the engine capability I would be interested in peoples views and experiences with this engine. I understand some engine have a 'lull' lower down the throttle range but once cleared it is fine for normal flying. Thanks Hadders
  6. Hi Has anyone got a top 80 exhaust for sale. I need a new silencer the silver alloy one Thanks David
  7. Hi Aaaron I have searched the internet and some old post re coils re Hirth F£6 It seems that a replacement coil fits a back pack sprayer. Is your part number 2300487 if so several sellers on Amazon can supply a coil from the USA for about $14.00 Good luck.
  8. Aaron Nigel has had to retire but contact Mickey his daughter and she will let you know what spares they hold
  9. Thanks Simon. It looks like I can repair mine so will go that route first.
  10. I recently have been having difficult taking off without the wing and paramotor sinking down very close to the ground on lift off then really climbing poorly. So I used a vario and at maximum rate of climb achieving only 150 fpm so my guess of a problem was correct. I am currently checking the engine over as my compression test only gave 130psi max rather than the stated 150psi. This may be the problem. Secondly I replaced my wooden prop with a newer one as I trashed the original. Originally I had a helix 1.10m which I have had repaired so will try that once the engine is rebuilt. I have a Top80 with a 1.10M prop. I only weigh 65kg and fly a 25m WRC Dudek Nucleon. Hours on engine about 150 but new piston rings etc about 40 hours ago. Engine runs and start fine. Before the lack of performance I thought I had plenty of power and a reasonable climb rate. What rate of climb should I expect. Research tells me about 300fpm+ Your thoughts would be most appreciated. Hadders
  11. Hi Guys Sorry but my Sealey which I only just bought does fit into my standard 5 litre fuel can and transfers the fuel easily. I only use a 5 litre can when Paramotoring. It is less than an inch wide so should slide into any normal size container. Regards David
  12. I cant see why not I recently emptied my boat's old fuel can back into the jerry can so I could refresh the fuel. The Sealy works both ways filling and emptying.
  13. I am now using a sealey Jerry can fuel syphon its battery powered and is absolutely fantastic and easy to use, no more spilling etc. It even has auto cut off. Best bit of kit I have bought in years. ebay for £18.00 We are all using them for our Paramotors here in Kent
  14. Hi Guys, Where can buy I buy a replacement Helix prop from. Mine is none standard and would need to be ordered from Helix Germany just need a reliable and competitive outfit. Thanks
  15. regarding the fuel, you need to replace it as the modern ethonol gas only has a shelf life of 6 weeks! Put it into your lawnmower and put fresh fuel into the tank when your ready to go flying again.
  16. The main bearings can dry out if prolonged none use. By running it once a month you will keep everything lubricated.
  17. Regarding oil adding a little more can cause problems because the engine is running lean ie more air to fuel the extra oil lubricates the engine but also thins the petrol/air mix which in turn makes the engine run hotter! As long as you don't run more than 50:1 (2%) you should be fine. I run my top80 on 1.7% ratio. Hadders
  18. Primer bulbs are always braking down. I have had various issues over 30 years mainly on microlights and recently paramotors. If you suspect an issue just change the primer bulb and also check your fuel lines. The new style fuel hardens the fuel lines which is problem right across the aviation world therefore now aircraft owners regulary change the fuel lines etc. Its a cheap option. The bulbs just stop working correctly. I also fit clear lines from the bulb to the engine so I can see if there is any excess air travelling up through the lines indicating an air leak. Trust of use. 19. Hi Simon, Will look for details Small world was near there in St Pere de Pescador (nearer France) first week April not flying this time but this was where I did some of my flying with Alex Ledger a few years ago. Now can't fly from this beach as now part of the nature reserve. Wx was great except for the strong wind that blew constantly for three days. Hadders
  20. Hi Simon, When and where did you go to in Spain. Is this an annual trip or a one off? If an annual trip is it open to all PM Club members and do you have any more detail you can send. IE Costs, accom transport etc. Good to see Julie flying I met her at the Microlight comp at Popham in August she was marshalling for the Paramotors (joint venue). She loves her flying. Regards Hadders
  21. NPPL (M) old style PPL D 30 years flying covered to fly trikes but just fly without one.
  22. Hi Simon, Yes of course height over - but what I was trying to explain was that if the area is clear ie nothing on the beach then height would not matter, so foot dragging touch and go's etc can all be practiced safely. When I use the beach I normally go mornings mid week and only have company of dog walkers and bait diggers. Any tourists or 'do gooders' are still in bed and the beach is much quieter than would be in the evening. This way I can fly when the tides are suitable and when my fields are full of sheep and their wet poo! I also also say hello when I'm on the ground to all the other users and so far I have only had good comments and questions. Long may it continue. Hadders
  23. Hi Guys re beach flying and the 500 foot rule. Most people get this rule wrong its a distance rule in the UK not a height rule. The rule is something like a person shall not fly closer to a person vessel or structure within 500 feet. Therefore beach flying is legal as long as you are more than 500 feed ( 167 yards) away from persons vessels or structures. I was a microlight flying instructor at a local airport and the GA instructors also thought it was a height rule but looking in the relevant CAP document it clearly showed that I was correct. I used this in my practice forced landings as the heart really does not start to pump in an engine failure situation until your below 500 feet. Trust of use Hadders
  24. Hi I have a Pap 120 with only about 5 hours on it. It is a large size and I'm only little. Bought it as a spare but not using it. Would sell for less than 2K. In as new condition. Happy for you to test fly it. Im based in Canterbury
  25. Hi Rotor over mountain tops can be up to 2000 if a wind is blowing Have a plan and be careful I had a serious event once when I was flying my lightweight single seat microlight. I really thought I had made my last flight! I was just too low and the rotor which you cannot see gave me a real experience! A calm day would have been another kettle of fish. I have 3000 hours flyight time and got caught out Good luck Hadders
