  1. This is a very impressive and professional production. I smell a big budget [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  2. Was pissing myself until I remembered it was the name of a Lotus
  3. I've just completed a promotional video for a developer client. I have to say that a lot of stress, hard work and tears went into the making of it, as it was a solo job from the story board and all filming to models and editing. In fact it was a bit of a baptism of fire If you have time (2 minutes) to watch it, and you think it worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could 'like' the video. There are a couple of PPG shots in there, so it's not entirely off topic Cheers Dan
  4. Pete, I highly recommend these 2 Thor 200 Facebook pages. There's some really good info there, and it looks as if you're going to be an excellent contributor https://www.facebook.com/groups/174049336076750/?fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/PoliniThor200Owners Cheers Dan
  5. Hi Pete, and welcome to the forum. I read your post with interest. What you say makes sense, although my piston blew at 219°. Many thought I was mistaken until louts more low temp holes started appearing, which is when the emphasis shifted to the squish and pre-ignition. My question is would an EGT gauge have picked this up? Cheers Dan

    Question:

If you look carefully you'll notice that this is the healthy 'slimmers' option (1 egg, 1 sausage, no mushrooms or black pudding, 1 slice of toast). It's how i get around the little voice that my mum planted in my head when I was a kid; everything in moderation What can I say, it works. I've managed to eat stuff like this on a regular basis for years and stay at 85kg....mind you, I'm only 4'3"
  7. Is it me, or is the world a windier place than it used to be My wife tells me that it's me...but I don't think she's referring to external climate issues
  8. I think my mother-in-law falls into the other 1%

    Polini Mods

Having Pap just down the road, and all other decent manufacturers in other countries, the convenience and super quick customer service keeps me loyal to this brand, plus Pierre is a good friend now. I needed something more powerful and there wasn't any other choice. I kinda, naively thought that Polini being such a big company (relatively speaking), they would sort out the niggles pronto. How wrong was I

    Polini Mods

I've just changed to a Polini Thor 200, and I cannot tell you how disappointed and upset I am with what my 5k has bought. I drilled a piston within 2 hours of flying it because it was given to me too lean. Now I've got that issue sorted, I'm left with a paramotor that I have to spend more time watching the temp gauge than actually concentrating on flying. As soon as I increase the rpm to climb the temp shoots up and I have to level out to let it cool down before I continue to climb. I think the thing that pisses me off the most though is its incredibly narrow power band. It's almost impossible to cruise level. I'm either descending or climbing like a bat out of hell. Any suggestions to flatten out the power delivery would be very welcome. It's amazing that Polini can get away with it. Rant over Dan
  11. I haven't flown in 2 months!!! The weather's been like the UK only rain instead of snow. Never been grounded this long. As regards to the terrain and launch sites. It's pretty dire here, cause it's so built up. Price you pay for a good climate (or not so good right now). It's certainly not for everyone, that's why a serious recci is so important before any big decisions are made. Dan

    GoPro Black or Sony

You're comparing Sony's latest with GoPro's old model. The new GP3Black is good step up from the 2
  13. Hi Tony The Phantom uses exactly the same DJi Naza controller that the 450 uses, in fact you could say that the Phantom is the little brother of the 450 ...dressed up in girlie party clothes The Phantom is an inspired move by DJi to bring serious multi-copter technology to the masses, non-techies like me that just want to remove from the box and be in the air in 20 minutes, but want all the technology that the bigger drones have (and more). They've succeeded, they are selling in drones....I mean droves. Dan
  14. You mean an omelette? C'mon Rob, you can't have your cake and eat tit
  15. Got one of these a few weeks ago and it is AWESOME!!! http://www.gizmag.com/dji-phantom-quadcopter-review/26812/ I cannot recommend enough, especially with a GoPro3 Black attached.
  16. All really bad stuff in the world starts with a rant...
  17. Which is why I have never considered anything else, never needed to 'cause the competition simply didn't match up....until now
  18. That's the single biggest problem. Quite a bit of dish laid out over the years including Tom Tom
  19. I own a 17" Macbook Pro, iPad 3 and a iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is definitely ready for an upgrade, so naturally you'd think I'd be looking at the iPhone5, and I have, and I'm really dissapointed. It gets worse, I'm now looking at the Samsung Note 2 From all the reviews, it looks so much better. The big screen seems so much more useable, especially with my rapidly failing eyesight. Mind you, I might need to buy a manbag to put it in Please someone give me a good argument why it's not better than the iphone 5. Dan

    GoPro Black or Sony

IMO, GoPro 3 Black edition, mainly because I don't think the Sony can do anything better than the GoPro (now niggles are mostly iron out), whereas I can think of a few things the GP3 can do that the Sony cannot ie 12mp stills, which are actually useful. 4k res albeit only at 15fps, but I think that means you could freeze frame at any point and remove a 12mp still. More support for the GP3, more toys based around the GP3 ie Phantom quadcopter etc I haven't got my GP3 yet, so if anyone can offer a compelling argument to the contrary, I'd like to hear it now as opposed to a couple of weeks when I've bought mine. Dan
  21. Completely understandable. If your avarage pear-shaped occurred, one, due to massive and rapid deceleration you'd probably end up dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun. Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.... Whereas, the other you'd probably only end up cursing at the bottom of a farmers field, because it meant you'd need to get on the blower and blag a lift home She knows the score
  22. I consider myself lucky that my wife is totally cool about my PPG'ing and motorcycling. She is absolutely not interested or involved but is happy that I have something that I love. She trusts my judgement and doesn't worry when I fly/ride. However, I was having a coffee with Rob (Skybluerob) and his better half Angie the other day and Angie was saying that she often goes down to the field with Rob to watch him fly and I realised that I would really like it if my wife wanted to be more involved with the sport. It got me wondering about other's partners attitudes to Paramotoring. Hence the poll
  23. Hey Rob It was great to meet you guys, enjoyed your company Tarifa is one of my favourite places and we're really lucky to have it an hour down the road. Occasionally, about once a month you get a day or two of no wind and we get the chance for a wicked day out. This is the last one (watch for the out takes at the end) [youtubevideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUkUO5Tekxo[/youtubevideo] Ronda truly is beautiful, another great place to fly...
