nigel_d.
Hi Alan, had you considered noise cancelling electrets? If you werent aware they have openings on the back as well as front so as to cancel ambient sound to a degree. I have never experimented with them so dont know how effective they are. I have used a moving coil mic which is noise cancelling by way of similar symmetrical front and back porting which was an improvement over standard electret (although a single transistor amp stage was needed), however though air to ground is ok but air-air is just too noisy with the defenders we were using. poz
Bloody hell Alan, you must be a mind reader! Thank you so much for taking what must have been a considerable amount of time and effort to put this together in such detail, and posting. You're a star. alan_k
Just come across what is probably the ideal donor single earpiece headset, includes curly lead and plug to suit a variety of radios: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ICOM-COMPATIB ... 859wt_1079 Cheers, Alan
