deno
Hi. I have recently bought a second hand Vortex paramotor with a Solo 210 engine. The guy I bought it from started it fine, but when I try it just kicks back when it fires, sometimes pulling the handle out of my hand and has even snapped the starter cord on one occasion. I think it may be that I may just need a trip to the gym but I read online that this can be down to poor belt tension, but how tight should the belt be? how do you tell if its tight enough or even too tight? I read that if the belt is too tight you can break the prop or crank shaft. Can anyone help?
alan_k
Hi Deno, The belt is at the correct tension if you can turn it by 45 degrees with finger and thumb, at the centre position between the two pulleys. Cheers, Alan
