  1. mine were from R.S, code 138-329
  2. been using these for 18 months with no problem at all
  3. simmo instructions say not to use TTS. my friend has a simmo and he uses the scooter stuff from asdas, no probs with over 50 hrs on it now
  4. spark errosion from the plug nipple to cap will cause lots of noise, you can tell this is happening by a black powder and a dull nipple when you pull the cap off. change out both as pennies to buy then you are sorted
  5. polini will be just as hard to start as your pap 125, i had 1. lots of torque in the low hang configeration, but then lots of power.. same ish weight i am also interested in the miniplane
  6. should not matter if its on its side as its a gell battery that are sealed. the white stuff on the alli is prob because damp has been in the battery box, and a bit of earth leakage, store with the battery off or 1 terminal disconnected. put some silica gell packes taped to the battery and some petrolium jelly from yr bedroom on the terminals. you can leave it a lot longer than two weeks inbetween charging
  7. tons of power and tons of torque twist, i sold my airfer polini low hang because of this, I only flew it twice. no fun. look at the bulldog polini no twist or torque effect, test fly 1 of them superb machine, with lots of thought gone into it, not just an engine and frame like the others
  8. ive seen the kobra polini fly, it has masses of torque, all polinis on low hang seem to have this torque twist, the only 1 that ive seen that does not is the bulldog, have a look at 1 of those first before picking the kobra, far superior machine and you can get 1 60% down with the rest over 12 months
  9. check your timing as this will hole the piston for sure. if you dont want to pay 150, then go to a sheet metal shop and get a bit of alli welded on the underside of the piston,(piston needs to be in the barrel in case it warps slightl) then build it up on the top with weld, then file it down . my mate did this on a pap top 80 and its still going ok after 200 hrs on it..
  10. totally agree, iv'e learned a lot of lessons, and this is 1 that will stick in the mind. good you posted it up
  11. you are P.I.C (pilot in command) listen to possible alternatives, but slight doughts go with safest plan. what they teach on my fixed wing lessons
  12. thanks guys, I assume on the swing arm bolts im looking for bending or fractures? are these bolts used graded aircraft use? or are they just plain old stainless steel?
  13. Hi Im moving from a high hang machine (adventure F3) to a low hang point machine (airfer polini thor) what tips n hints have you got please and what suprises to watch out for Cheers Gary
  14. I think on this carb the adjuster is for bottom end and the top end is set by an internal jet so not adjustable unless you changed the jet of course, bit like a motor bike
  15. richen up the bottom end, the L needle and try again, either in the air or strap it to a field fence post and run it to simulate flight
